It's still a bit early for tomatoes and cucumbers but I did get a bushel of spring beets, a bushel of onions, plus the usual greens. This week pickling beets, yea not having to do them when tomatoes and apples are coming in are going to make my life so much easier. James is upset because he really wanted to help make bread and butter pickles, dh is neutral but other ds is very happy

A unique window overlooking Town Square along Main Street, U.S.A., at Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif., pays tribute to Lillian Disney and her contributions to the theme park her husband, Walt Disney, opened on July 17, 1955. The window was unveiled in a private ceremony on July 13, 2025, the 100th anniversary of Walt and Lillian Disney’s wedding. The tradition of honoring individuals with a personalized decorative window on Main Street, U.S.A., was started by Walt Disney and has continued at Disney parks worldwide. It remains one of the highest honors at The Walt Disney Company.

Time flies and it was a big event for the Disney family. This is the year of big milestones for weddings since my parents last month celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Door County with my younger brother and I.

Honestly I’m kinda glad I have to work the weekend because it gets pretty busy during the weekend in summer especially so I’m looking forward to the next (relatively) low stress week.

What do you do with all of those? Are they used in salads, for example? I haven't had a beet in ages, and it wasn't the pickled kind. Think it was boiled.

They eat them as is, as a snack or side, they get chopped into salads, all I know is I'm glad I got spring beets because I would have run out before fall beets come in.Roast beets are so much better than boiled beets
My Saturday travels will involve picking up another 50 pounds of potatoes
Less than 3 weeks and they're just about gone, we did have a BBQ, but still The 3 of them ate the majority of the potato salad Thank goodness the rest of my list this week is just fresh produce
