We'll grill burgers and have some salad and dessert. Watching the various July 4th specials on TV. (Not going anywhere -- crowds will be too much.)
Grilling burgers sounds good! 4th of July isn't a thing here, so DH has to work, and E has plans with friends since she's done with school tomorrow after her presentation. The 4th is kind of a buzzkill for me anyway, as it's the day my mom died. And really, we should be celebrating today anyway!!

Happy real Independence Day! This is the day that the founding fathers voted for independence from Britain. The Declaration of Independence was then written and the final draft was approved on July 4th, and sent to the printer. So most people didn't HEAR about it until July the 4th, but they actually voted for independence on the 2nd.

"The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more. " -John Adams

For July 4th, I'll be eating Ribs and some side dishes including Sweet potato fries. I'll be checking on youtube or tv for fireworks on the 4th.

I'll be watching Mid-Ohio Indycar race on Sunday on Fox.
Ah yes, Sweet Potatoes. Here I live in the Sweet Potato capital of the world and I hardly ever eat any of them. I don't dislike them, it just isn't my favorite. If all the Tariffs go through I suspect there will be a large supply of Sweet Potatoes that will be real cheap. I hadn't thought of it before, but when I lived up north I don't remember ever having sweet taters.

As of yesterday all the back to the future movies are on Disney+ I don’t know for how long but it’s nice to know that I can watch them whenever I want for the foreseeable future.
Hulu apparently.

I just have regular Disney+. Because I get Hulu for free with my Spotify student account. At least until October. Then either my aunt or I will have to buy it for a month so we can binge Only Murders when I visit her in December. 😆

I don't like sweet potatoes. When I was a kid, my mother tried serving them once, and no one in the family liked them. (That was the end of that food experiment! ) :hilarious:

Well, this was a surprise -- 140-year-old company, Del Monte, files for Chapter 11 . . . :jawdrop:

That is surprising though I really only buy two of their brands. Contadina, College Inn.

Campbell's Soup will be the most likely to buy them. I don't think it would be Kraft. But isn't it sad, how a few companies control everything in every industry.

I have a couple hundred lying around not doing anything, I wonder if that would be enough. I always wanted to own a food supply place, but was afraid I'd eat all the profits.

It wasn't to long ago that I seem to remember that Campbells was in some financial trouble as well.

Maybe this is what I was thinking about.

My sister saw the Beach Boys last week along with Peter Noone. I only say this because the Beach Boys are coming to Epcot Nov 16 - 17.

It might be the last time you will see them. According to my sister, they are declining singing wise. But she plans to go to all 6 concerts in November, 🤣

I saw the Beach Boys in late May and while I enjoyed the concert the "boys, Mike and Bruce" are declining and relying more on the other musicians in the band to do a lot more of the singing. So like I said while I enjoyed it, the concert was also a little sad because I remember seeing them i the 1990's-early 2000's when they were still singing and moving more. I am wondering though if John Stamos will join them for this concert, and if he does I wonder if he will stay a little longer and be a narrator for Candlelight which will start the next week.
