I'll add another less likely to happen would be WDW just to stay in the Contemporary, facing MK, like a vowed I would do someday on my first day ever at MK, 42 years ago.
I had one night at Contemporary booked in January. Couldn't get the night at Pop and my parents were coming the next day to BLT, so I was like, eh, I'll splurge. I was in the garden wing.

I was in MK, and I got the text saying that I was on the ninth floor. There is no ninth floor in the wing.

You have never seen someone leave a park as quickly as I did to check out a hotel room. It was facing Bay Lake, not MK, but it was an amazing experience. You could see Epcot and DHS in the distance.

It was also on an AP rate, and I probably will never, ever stay in the tower for that price again. 20250127_145929.jpg

Therein lies the problem! If it isn't an upper floor facing MK, I don't have the desire to be there at all. From what I understand they are hard to come by, but somebody does and if it isn't me, I ain't going. I would be happy to pay that outrageous price for something I want, not something they want to give me. So like I said, it probably isn't going to happen at all. As much as I've always wanted to stay there I am pretty sure the my last words will not be, "damn, I missed out on seeing Bay Lake from the ninth floor, if only I hadn't been so stubborn". Instead it will probably be, "I told you I was sick"!

I've done MK view from BLT. It's pretty cool, but honestly, the main tower facing Bay Lake was pretty awesome. I mean, you walk out your door and there's the monorail. And the main concourse.

I hadn't stayed in the main tower in probably 20 years, so I was super excited because I was not expecting that.

Probably the way to get the main tower with an MK view would be to get it on a bounce back rate. I got Beach Club for an unbelievably low rate on a bounce back rate.

I'm sure it's nice, I'm not saying that. But for me it is like buying a Rolls Royce and when I go to pick it up it is a Chevy Pickup that they sent because they decided that is sufficient. I know, silly comparison, but there must have been something in your life, even as old as you think you are, that you really wanted and got something else that someone thought was just as good. That specific view of MK is the one I am willing to pay for. The pictures you posted were very nice as well, just not what I want to see. I have already stood at the top platform of the Eiffel Tower with spectacular 360 degree views of Paris. It's the other scene that I want where I can sit on the balcony and just look at the park from above my kingdom.

Yeah, I've stayed in BLT many times with an MK view. I actually prefer the Bay Lake view because you see a LOT of parking lot from the MK view rooms. It can also get noisy fast.

I was just happy to be upgraded to the tower at all after originally having been in the garden wing. I hung out on my balcony for a long time that day. Could also pop down on the top elevator, refill my drink, and pop back up. I loved it. Technically, Contempo Cafe closes at 11 pm, but no one stops you from refilling your mug after closing.

I think UAE is more progressive than other countries, like Saudi Arabia. Which is what I thought because Lindsay Lohan lives there; I can't imagine she'd live there under severely restricted rights. Basically the restrictions are don't show shoulders and knees except at beaches. Annoying given the climate, but light dresses or linen pants would work (and protect your skin from the sun). Head coverings are only required at mosques, which I personally would not be going to. I googled it and my ADHD meds could come in with a permit. I can't do China because I can't bring them in and it's not worth it to not be able to have them.

The big thing is that it is NOT friendly to the LGBTQ population. That should be a consideration.

For Disney, the big thing is this is overall lower risk for them. If the project stalls or fails, they've basically lost man hours and can reuse ideas for future projects. Most of the capital outlay is coming from the company in UAE, much like how the Tokyo parks work, and then they make the money from the licensing fees. Which means that, depending on the agreement, they basically make money on it every year. Not as much potentially as the American parks, but they don't take as much potential losses either. The partner in UAE is taking the risk.

I'd still pick the Japanese parks as my bucket list parks.
Yeah, the Middle East just isn't really on my short list of places to visit. The climate alone is very unappealing. But I can see that a certain demographic is more likely to go to a park in the middle east than to Florida, and it IS closer for certain people. And especially right now where tourism to the US is declining rapidly, having yet another option outside of the states is probably pretty attractive. But I'd be more likely to go to Japan or DLP.

It goes both ways. Sadly some guests outside the USA feel that the climate here is unappealing to them hence they take their vacation $$ to other places in the world.
