My oldest just got her license and to be honest I don’t know if it is a real id or not. Hers looks different than dh’s and mine. It is set up vertically. Dh said it was because she is a minor? Maybe he is wrong. We didn’t pay anything extra though. We didn’t even pay for the actual license. We paid for the permit and I guess because of that they don’t charge for the license. Now I will have to look and see what a real id looks like because hers is up for renewal in 2023.

If you had to bring her birth certificate and all to the appointment, then hers is already a real ID.

Mine was vertical too. In Maryland they have them that way until you're 21. Not sure about PA.

Headed home and I-85 traffic is horrendous. We get up to speed then have to slow to 40 then repeat. We have done that since we left Atl.

if your Portuguese, you'll understand this picture. I grew up with this on Labour Day. I'll just send the link basically I'm really not sure how to explain it. But anyway, it was the cause of me thinking that Labour Day was a holiday (like Christmas) when I was a kid. Family Reunions and small dinky parades.

The postal service....

I ordered my dad a mousepad with Hawaii shots on it for their anniversary from Shutterfly. It never showed up. I called Shutterfly and they sent a replacement, which my cat sitter helped me hide from my parents.

Today the original showed up. I checked the tracking numbers...this was the original.

Well, now I have two. I needed a mousepad for my desk anyway...

Okay, something I don't get...

There's a girl who I was close friends with in high school but now I'm just Facebook friends with...ugh. Her parents made her move out of their house because she was causing trouble. They don't trust her as far as they can throw her. They asked her to let sit for them after she moved out and she threw a party while they were gone. This is just the kind of crap she pulls.

A few weeks ago, my mom had lunch with the girl's mom, who mentioned she was buying workout clothes for her daughter (her daughter works for a gym). Hence my mother's line from a few weeks ago "Oh no I don't need to buy SWG clothes; she makes enough money she can buy her own." Which had me laughing hysterically. Anyway...

Now I just saw on FB that the daughter took a trip up to NYC. Not a day trip. A full weekend. With friends, not her parents.

I'm like, great, your mommy has to buy you clothes, and you take a trip up to NYC with all the money you apparently don't have.

I just don't understand some people.

Sandy was one of those that just ran up the coast. I remember that it almost wiped out the Outer Banks and here in Raleigh there wasn't enough wind to blow out a match. My friends and relatives in Vermont were trying to convince me to move back to Vermont, however, other then the Outer Banks, Sandy did more damage to Vermont then here. Sandy did a number on NJ as I recall.

Sandy was not fun I had no power for a week and I was one of the lucky ones! Some I know now own houses in the ocean

We are considering the castle for Christmas. Would have got it this trip but no room in the car . And apparently leaving mum behind wasn't an option.
The train is less interesting as it is DL.

Now if they made lego replicas of the cruise ships ...

We saw the train in person in DS in the Lego store. I would get the castle over the train. Not as impressive. Steam Boat Willie is better.

The Real ID has a gold star in the upper right-hand corner. Also, she would have had to produce documents such as social security card, certified birth certificate, etc. to get the Real ID. That's why people are complaining - it's tedious trying to get all the documents together. (I had to get about 4-5 things they wanted.) Now, where she's a kid, I wonder if they lessen the paperwork, as she obviously would not have something like a utility bill each month in her name, etc.

I read that this morning. She needed to bring her SS card and Birth Certificate when she got her permit. Still her license is a regular underage license. Says on it “Not for use as real id’. It is good til 2023. You would have thought they would have just given her the real id. It was not even offered to her.
