He was soooo surprised!!! I picked him up front school.. everything in the trunk.. said he had to run an errand with me. Pulled up to GWL and he said “Are we going here?”
“No, T, I have to meet a client to sign a paper, that’s why we stopped at Starbucks, you eat while she comes out.”
“Oh, ok. Yeah I can’t swim in my uniform anyway.”

I get out.. I sneak to the trunk, call for him to walk back- “T, can you carry this?”
“Wait, what?”
“We’re staying here.”
“No way. Really? Are you playing a trick on me? Where’s your client?”
“Yes, really. I did trick you, there’s no client. Only us checkin in to Great Wolf Lodge.”

“Oh my gosh. OH. MY. GOSH. This is EPICC!!”
(And does a leaping hug, almost knocking me over) 🤣❤️

I must be the only one that wants nothing to do with any of my parents rings. I do however have dibs on the moms' crosses

My Mom had a boatload of jewelry. My Dads friend was a jeweler and that is where most of came from. Still alive but my Mom gave both my Sis and I each a half a boatload of Jewelry each. My Sis wears her boatload, me not so much, plus I have a great deal of jewelry of my own. I visit most of it every time I have to go into my safety deposit box, smile, admire and close the lid of the box until next time. 2 pieces for special occasions come out of hers. A 2 carat marquise diamond ring in a vintage setting and a diamond tennis bracelet. While I have a lot of good jewelry I never wore much at once. Combined the value of both likely exceeds what I paid for my house. :cautious: Wanting Mom's jewelry I guess never was considered, it just appeared. Much like the Grand Piano appeared on my doorstep via Piano movers. Didn't know it or they were coming. Just there.

My son as the only grandson got my Dads cufflings, a nice slick gold watch and my grandfathers pocketwatch (he worked for the railroad). Someday into the future my DD is going to have even more stuff in her safety deposit box than I do.

He liked parts of it, but it completely terrified him. First, he was clutching his stuffed animals so tightly and kind of whimpering when she turned into a bear. Then when they woke up in the morning, and she spits out the berries because they are poisonous and then she spits out the water because Merida says it's "wormy", he just about threw up. He can't handle stuff like that, so he started crying, but came back once we were past the part where the bear tears into the fish. But then when they got to the ruins, he screamed and ran upstairs and I could hear him just sobbing. So I went up and talked with him and I got him to come back and I sat next to him and held him, and he hid in a couple suspenseful parts, but he did finish it....he thought the brothers were really funny. Once it was over, he was still really teary and asked me to play cards with him so he could think of something else. So overall, not a success, but I was glad he finished it because I was afraid if he didn't see the resolution, he'd get nightmares. That's always been my issue. I have to finish a book or movie to know how it resolves or I will get nightmares about it. But he seemed fine last night. I worked, so I don't know if he had trouble GETTING to sleep, but when I came home, he wasn't whimpering in his sleep like he does when he gets nightmares.
Sympathy like and {{HUGS}} for him

Xyiltol is very poisonous to dogs, so if you have a pet make sure it doesn't eat anything made from it. A few years ago a former student of mine was on the news because their dog ate some candy (I think it was gum) that had xylitol in it and the dog ended up dying. It was on the news because the dog had some horrific reactions as it died from eating it, so they wanted to make sure others new about how dangerous it could be.

Yep. There were quite a few times I called my kids in sick to pull off all the projects, papers, study guides and actually studying for finals. Time management wasn't the issue. Each teacher thought their 'load' was reasonable without taking into account how many hours they were in school and how many addition classes they had and the 'load.' Adding up the hours necessary to complete all the tasks and still pull off good grades, the hours were not there to accomplish successfully. So rather than attend school the lame duck last few days of the semester they at times just stayed home and powered through all that end of semester stuff.

Both of my kids found college to be easier to time manage than high school.

And yeah...pep rallies were never my thing either and her HS coach did not allow them to participate in Powder Puff cause he didn't want broken swimmers. Relief.
James even with the extra classes is doing better with time management this year:joyfull: Me not so much:facepalm:
