So going vegetarian has been met with varying responses. It's interesting how much animosity there is around it...

I find it weird as well that simply removing meat, something we've been led to understand is the fuel our body needs, I've lost weight and had more energy. I didn't expect that at all.
It's probably partially due to the fact that, as a vegetarian, you have to pay more attention to what you put in your body to compensate for not getting protein from meat, so you're probably eating better overall.

I don't think there's anything wrong with choosing to go vegetarian/vegan. It' actually proven that it's better for the environment. The problem is that many vegans/vegetarians (and I am not referring to anyone here) spend their lives trying to convince everyone else to become vegetarians. And the thing is, it's a personal choice. If you can go vegetarian/vegan and you feel better physically and mentally, great. I know myself, if I try to eat a meal without meat, I'm either hungry two hours later or I don't feel well afterward. I also have a tendency to get anemic, especially one week out of the month, and I actually have to take supplements that week to compensate. I also can't eat nuts, which is a major source where vegans get protein For me, going vegan/vegetarian just would not be a very good idea. But there are a lot of vegans who will sit there and judge you for not being vegan. And really, it's a personal choice, like any other.

I think, though, for the most part, vegans/vegetarians do mind their own business and aren't pushy about it, but the ones who are this way give them a bad reputation.

Just make sure you're paying attention to what you're eating, and if there's something you're missing in your diet, make sure you're supplementing. I'm sure you're already doing this, but just good to keep in mind.

In the spring, you can plant something else in those spots. What I noticed was the amount of land in your yard--nice.

Thanks. It’s a little over an acre (entire yard, not back). The yard was the only reason I didn’t buy in a new community one street over. I will eventually have a pool, and I wanted plenty of grass left over for sports/entertaining.
I wouldn’t have had to deal with all of this renovating/removal if I would have made a different decision, but I don’t regret it... for the most part. ;)

I don’t like sports and I’m not religious (atheist). To be honest I’m the nerdy kid that would rather be Playing Pokémon, or dungeons and dragons 🤓
Okay, I'm going to go all big sister on you (I have a brother about your age) and tell you: please find a group at school that does something you enjoy and do it. There's so much more out there than sports and church groups. If you enjoy nerdy stuff, find other who enjoy that stuff. Find groups. Or just find a club at school that meets once a week that interests you, even halfway, and start going. I know; it's going to be awkward, but you need more to keep you busy than just playing Pokemon and D&D. Besides, colleges want to see at least a few extracurriculars. Good grades aren't enough to stand out.

As for the bullying, I went through the same thing believe it or not. I was younger than you when it was happening. There was this girl who likes to follow me around and call me names. I also have moderate to severe asthma, and it was bad in middle school, not to mention everyone knew about it after there was a 911 call in seventh grade and the vice principal, who was then the principal the following year, ended up going to the ER with me. This girl likes to go around telling people I was taking for attention. It was awful. I got to the point where I had to have a friend with me at all times, particularly my one friend who was just this stereotypical big black girl with a heart of gold but who no one messed with, and the bully was terrified of her. But it still got worse.

The thing that really helped was bringing my parents into the loop. I reported every time the bullying happened. I would tell my mom. She never did anything to embarrass me; only tried to fix the problem. Finally, my dad got involved and threatened to call the police. The problem got solved. The best thing you can do is just report it and keep your parents informed. It doesn't make you a snitch, and it might get worse before it gets better, but I promise you, it does get better.

I was going to suggest that too, but it is illegal to record a conversation unless both parties know it is being recorded.
I'm pretty sure its illegal for legal reasons (as in public legal demonstrations) but he could do it to show his parents.

besides, most schools are already recording, so that claim is mooth if its in the school grounds or other public property.
