Discovering doesn't necessarily mean it didn't exist before, it just means that for the person that found it, they discovered for the very first time for them. I know, that is how we use the word, but, it is very well known now that Columbus wasn't the first person to make landfall in the Americas, but, at the time people didn't know it existed, then someone discovered that it did. Where did they think the people came from that tied up their boats, natives R us?

Don't say that in front of the Italian-Americans -- they love that guy!! :) They have parades and fun events on Columbus Day.

Day 3, Part 2

Slowly but constantly, after a few hours. We finally approached the Vancouver Island ferry Terminal.
DSC_7306_DxO.jpg

Using my long lens we spotted this tug boat.
DSC_7312_DxO.jpg

As we lined up.. turns out he was looking at me and my long lens lol.DSC_7315_DxO.jpg

Almost reaching the Vancouver Island West terminal (or north?).
DSC_7320_DxO.jpg

Its amazing seeing 4 ferries of different sizes docked all the time.

Once we left the ferry, We headed with our bus towards Downtown Victoria.

Where we went first to a pit stop, then to purchase a bus tour to Butchart Gardens.
DSC_7340_DxO.jpg
Then we headed to the main area of Victoria.

Unfortunately, THE EMPRESS hotel was recently bought and all the well cared plant life that was in its wall were removed. And the entire hotel is being renovated and modernized.

Some claim that the new owner's claim that the plant life was destroying the walls was bogus.. but who knows.
The hotel lost its "old classic luxury hotel" feel.

Also, the entire "old" area of Victoria is being destroyed by the insanity of speculators and construction companies adding more and more and more apartment towers.
The city grew staggeringly in the few years we haven't been.

DSC_7341_DxO.jpg
There was a Soldier standing guard at the graves.

We had very little time left before we had to board the bus.. so we went to the legistlative building. Beautiful as always!

But in need of some well needed repairs.

We managed to get inside, the security there is a bit tight. As the building is IN USE by legislators and leaders of Canada.
There is a big exibit about the history of Canada and a special one about women rise of power. And a display of the different Sceptres until the newest one.

We only managed to see 2 rooms before we had to go out again quickly to get to the Bus terminal.
Funnily..
When we arrived there we were told we were supposed to "get in" the Bus infront of The Empress hotel. So we had to run again. Kinda bad since it was raining softly.

When we got up, the bus started fairly quickly and the rain stopped.
It was around 45 minutes of drive (plus one stop at the Butterfly Gardens) before we reached Butchart Gardens.

Is she here yet?
No, not yet.

How ‘bout now...?
No.

Now.....?
Nope... ;)

She was 100% effaced and at 9 centimeters a few hours ago and has been pushing for a while now. Doc says everything is fine with DD and DG and this isn’t unusual (we know that as per when she was born), but things are just taking their time.
Soon, hopefully...!!! :)

Thanks to all of you who weighed in when I asked your collective advice when I got a jury duty summons a few weeks ago, even though I just served jury duty in February 2017. I sent them a letter with proof that I just served, and today I got this. Bad scan, but you get the idea. Thanks again to those who advised me. Seriously. You know who you are. And yes, for those who don't know, my real first name is Montague. My parents were apparently stoned out of their minds when they named me. But at least they gave me a good white trash nickname like Buddy! Grrr.

OK, the latest...

DDs Labor has hit a wall, there is no distress, but, both her and DG are gettin’ tuckered out, so her doc is callin’ it, and she’s recommending a C-section. They just took her down.
Definitely not something she or we wanted, but, as long as both are safe that is all that matters.

It’s really crazy how this is all kinda’ following a similar pattern to her own birth 27+ years ago. Except, when DWifeys doc called it late at night, he took her down to use forceps instead of for a C-section.

Anyway, definitely won’t be long now...!!! ;) :)
