Yep, glasses and hearing aids along with cataract surgery was covered by the VA for my Dad. He hasn't needed to use it because his Union insurance has been over the top and has covered everything that has happened to him.

I cant find the page off hand I normally go to for my Dad but here is another link I found while searching for the one I had favorited on my old laptop. Oy.

Thanks I appreciate the link, but, it can get a lot more complex then that. From what I remember when I was briefed on VA coverage, it's sort of like the FP+ process at Epcot. There are different levels of coverage. For example, from what I was told a Vietnam Veteran (one that actually was in Vietnam) is one level, where as a Vietnam era veteran that was never in country, has a different set of benefits. At least that is what I understand about it. I'm not in any hurry, I had this checked out early and all it is right now is just a minor cloudiness in my left eye. With both eyes my vision is still 20/20 (Guess my right eye is doing most of the work and the brain is blocking out the bulk of what the left eye is seeing thru the haze.

I have a call into VA just to ask the question. I also have Medicare and they might be hit up for that procedure. Like I said, other then the "old man" implications, I'm not overly concerned about it. I'll fix it on my own if I have too. I do so hate taking that much from my retirement living expenses though. Heck, I might want a new car someday, unless I let the eye problem go and can't drive anymore. Now that I think of it, that would save a pile of money.

Simpler up here.
Get assessed. Wait 6 weeks. Get the procedure. That is all.

(And Shell out $4.00/gallon for gas to subsidize it.)

(And yes, the "Shell" is an intentional lame pun.)

your dog seems to have the "only me" syndrome that cats usually have.
aka they MUST have your attention!

Well, from what you and @StarWarsGirl95 suggested, he must be jealous when I'm talking to anyone other than him. Meanwhile, sometimes I'll sit on the sofa watching tv for a few hours, and he'll be right at my side the entire time. But the moment the phone rings, he starts making noise. (Then again, perhaps, it's not jealousy, but it's his way of "joining" in the conversation? o_O )

Executive decision made.
Before I go to bed on Sunday night (technically Monday morning ;)), I will shut off the timer for my outdoor Christmas lights. Sunday is my Mom's b'day. No one was a bigger Christmas fan than she was, so I'll leave them up a few more days for her.

And then, I'll let Hubby take them down one day next week.

It's supposed to rain all weekend, so most of the snow wil be swept away anyway.
(Doesn't mean we won't get more though.)

P.S. - I put all the rest of my indoor decorations away today. :(

I think it's a good idea that you'll finally put away all the lights. That way, you'll have months of happy anticipation, just thinking about how excited you'll be, when you get to put them up for Christmas 2015! :)
