I threw it in the dryer on low. I generally hang dry most of the kids things, but pj’s I will throw in the dryer. It is a little stretchy. She has one side cut out. She has the other side pinned with the pattern.

If it's like a t shirt type material she'll need to use a stretch needle and a stretch stitch or the stitches will pop

To me it looks like a knit. If it doesn't fray at the cut edges it is.

make sure there's a stretch needle in the machine size from 9-12 should work for doodles. What machine model do you have?

It is a starter machine sil got her 2 years ago. Janome New Home.

YEA! Janome makes nice machines even at the starter level. If the machine has it look for a stitch that looks like a lightning bolt or 3 dashed lines

It does work really well. She has those stitches.

The good news is both doodles and Janome are pretty forgiving. Have her try out both stitches on a scrap of fabric to see which she likes better. If the fabric slips too much or the seams get wavy have her sew over tissue paper. Also don't let her sew over any pins as that can screw up the timing of the machine

The fabric keeps getting caught. She is using the needle it comes with. Does she need the stretch needle then? I may need to make a Joann run.

yes she should be using a stretch needle but as far as getting caught lay the fabric on a small piece of tissue or typing paper and sew about an inch on that and have enough underneath to sew an inch on both fabric and paper. Start on the paper.
