That is adorable!! She has some Dr. Suess books but she's not really into them. The only one she ever asks for is about two dogs that go camping. One of them is super prepared, while the other is not.

They have so many iconic children's books these days that it makes me wonder how the Dr. Suess franchise is doing. Llama llama seems much more popular with kids her age.
I know the lower grades here read his books leading up to his birthday celebration

It has been over a year since I've flown with my Mom. Now mind you I'm in my AARP years. We were heading home from Cleveland and our SW flight was very late due to a heavy rainstorm at the airport. Just kept getting delayed. I went to the restroom and went into a store, coming back about two gates away my Mom is screaming at me, Gabe we are going to miss this plane where did you go (I told her and she was watching my carry on) you left me with all the luggage and they are boarding the plane (the door is still closed) there she is in line with people that were not in our group and randomly picks a place to stand (a no no with SW airlines)
I'm trying to get basic info out of her as to what the gate agent said (told if I was where I was supposed to be I'd know, still yelling, aka she doesn't remember) then continues to berate me for almost making her miss her flight. (jetway door still closed) I turn the woman besides me who took pitty on me and ask what the update was. They would begin boarding in approximately 20 minutes and the flight should leave 20-30 minutes after boarding STARTED.

My Mom is the same way when we do a 3 hour road trip or so. One day I missed an interstate flyover. By the time I saw the sign with all the semi's around it was too late to get over. Melt Down Mother. Oh my God Oh my God Now what are we going to do we are lost and you don't know what your doing or where you are going. Me calmly. See I missed that exit, so I am going up to the next one turning around and going to get off at the exit I need to be on....Well you missed it already once doesn't mean your not going to miss it again....

Yeah....parents....I'm happy it is my sisters turn to take her to Key West next month. That should be fun. Mom flying herself to Cleveland (I ordered her a wheelchair to take her to the gate so she doesn't melt down) then Cleveland to Miami and Miami to the Keys. If I went too I'd likely have to jump out the emergency exit door. Like @StarWarsGirl Dad my Mom has always been a nervous traveler. Borders always on panic attacks on all the things that could go wrong but doesn't is her thing. And oddly when I fly with my Mom our seats are NEVER split up.

Someday my kids will likely be telling these stories about me.....

Hugs to you about your travel experiences with your mom.

I'm open to staying at the resorts on Hotel Blvd once again as they can do EMHs and 60 day FPs once again. Their buses kept to a better schedule going to the parks than at times Disney buses or Monorail. On the way back to Hotel Blvd we always took a bus to Disney Springs from a nearby Disney Resort. Worked well. The Hilton is my favorite on the Blvd as it is just a walk across the bridge from the resort, much quicker commute than walking many of the large Disney Resorts footprints.

Hilton was my favorite down there, too. Been quite a few years since I stayed there, but I also followed the same bus routine as you--and went to DTD (or the freaking Springs as they call it now) for all of my returns from the parks, as there was more service. Unless I'm mistaken, I think there is also a foot bridge over the main road to Hotel Blvd. now. Crossing that road (prior to that) used to freak me out a little--as in 4-5 lanes (both directions) of traffic at the lights.

We stayed there overnight 2 years ago. My problem with it was that the rooms smelled mildewy and just looked like it needed a renovation. It was actually undergoing a renovation. So I checked it out for this upcoming trip, and the reviews stated the same complaints I had about it. Maybe they only renovated the grounds and pool but not the rooms? The room, which was a suite, was quite large, but I just couldn't see us staying in a room that smelled like mildew for more then 1 day.
