Because I have been working such long hours I decided to leave work at 3.30pm yesterday. (With my boss' permission.)
I decided to walk to the city center in Zurich to get some fresh air and exercise. I checked Google maps, the route looked pretty easy, I just needed to walk up and then down the mountain.

This was at the bottom of the mountain, I usually take the train to the city as it goes through the mountain and only takes 7 min.
My walk started of nice and relaxing but once the actual mountain part started, holy glutonus maximus, it was quite a work out but after nearly 2 hours I made it to the city center. By then it was nearly dark and all the Christmas lights were on. I went to the Christmas market but it had mostly generic things that you find at any Christmas market in northern Europe. Plus it freaked of the Swiss cheese fondue that is so popular here.
I went to the Ecco shoe shop hoping they had the shoes I am looking for. They did have them but not my size :banghead: .
The shop ordered them in the right size and hopefully I can get them on Saturday.
I then walked toward the main street, enjoying all the light.

It was pretty cold and I was getting hungry so I stopped at McDonald's for some dinner. It is very rare for me to eat out, I always prepare my own meals as I am very frugal except on holidays. I had the Big Bang bacon double burger and I have to say it was better than expected. It had a smokey sauce on it that was delicious. No longer hungry I was ready to tackle my Christmas shopping. Since I am in Switzerlan I just got everyone fancy chocolate. The Swiss really have the best chocolate and the shop smelled heavenly as they make some of their chocolates on site.
After spending an insane amount of money on chocolate I walked on main street towards the train station to catch the train home.View attachment 248385
I thought these dangling lights looked so pretty.:inlove:
By the time I got home I had walked nearly 17000 steps and was tired but happy.

I love your pictures and the travelogue! It's fun that people on here are from all over the place, and we all learn so much from the experiences that each share. :)

My least favorite park has my most favorite Disney Park icon.

By the way did you see the 4 former guests trying to climb the tree of life this past Sunday? Likely like the Mexican Pavilion in 2015 where over serving could be an issue. Play Where is Waldo to find him.

@donaldtoo , Do you go to the Armadillo Bazaar in Austin? I just read something about it, because I never heard of a Christmas Bazaar with armadillos? o_O :D Things are different down there in Texas! :joyfull:

Anyway, it starts on the 14th, and they have fine arts, shopping, music, food, and armadillos. I think you should go. ;)

Hahaaa...!
Thanks for asking! :)
We went a few times years ago when the kiddos were younger. We really need to attend again. Need to remedy that.
They really do have some really great musicians, artists, craftspeople, etc.

Here are links to both...! :)

Yeah, and he had reason to...it was a misunderstanding, but from his perspective, they didn't believe in him or thought he was lying. That's a huge trigger for him, so I get it. But that's the nice thing about this school...they are trained to look for the underlying cause of the outburst, not write it off as bad behavior. So they talk it out to figure out what's going on and have a better understanding of how his brain works and then give him the skills to control those emotions. It's pretty fantastic.

That is fantastic, indeed!
Best wishes for his continued success at the new school...!!! :)

Starting to finally shake off this stupid cold I've had for 8 days now. (Everyone around here has it.) Needless to say, I've gone through a ton of Kleenex.

Now, my dog has hit an all-time low--even for him--even with all his boorish behavior over the years. (Note: He loves any trash basket, because he thinks they're his toy boxes. ) So his latest treasure hunts have included pulling out all of my USED Kleenex from the baskets! I come home from work and find bits and pieces of Kleenex all over the house. It is beyond my comprehension why he want to play with, and EAT, my rhinovirus-infused SNOT RAGS??!!! :jawdrop:  :hungover: Gaaackkkk attack!

Hopefully you are over all of it by now! :)

And, this is Ranger, too...used snot rags and napkins, unused napkins, and all kinds of paper products...Ranger is the predator and paper products are his prey...!!!!! :hilarious:
