Being serious...clueless as to what the issue with Goodwill is.

I give money to the Salvation Army, donations to GoodWill.

I was curious to what the 'problem' is with GoodWill.

I was also wondering what MouseDreaming meant about the Goodwill comment. We have Goodwill up here, and they have helped many people, from infants to seniors. In addition, they have job training centers. I've donated many things to them over the years. I like that something I no longer need, will get a "second life" for someone else, and will also give some work to the people whose job it is to sort out the clothing, etc.

Salvation Army is also good. With them, I will put money in the red kettles around the holidays. They're all over the city now. They're good people to stand out in the cold in the winter, ringing their bell, to help raise money for the less fortunate members of society.

Love this, attempted to be hidden by shipping containers but that doesn't stop Google Earth. You have to love tech Disney.

The Millennium could have used some Christmas Tree Branches ontop as camouflage

One would have thought that someone would have seen them fly that thing in wouldn't one?

Fun facts:

  • The elderly guide that we got in Tula has 60+ years of experience. So it sort of balanced it out. Since it was a private tour. We could talk freely with him. He also gave us a guide of all medicinal plants on the area. From cactuses (10+ varieties in the area) and flowers..etc..
  • The clock of Puebla (Reloj Monumental).. was made by the same company that made the Big Ben and supposedly it has the same kind of mechanisms. The clock is more than 100 years old.
Wow, that's so cool about the clock! I wonder how old Big Ben is....

Are you into horticulture? When I had just graduated from college, I was a sort of counselor for an academic summer program (kind of a summer camp, I guess, but it was 3 weeks on a college campus for academically-minded high schoolers to feel what college was like) and one of the classes had a field trip that I drove the kids to and we did a nature walk where a local woman showed us all the plants and what they do. The only one I remember was Yarrow...which is a pain reliever. I wish I could remember more...it was really fascinating.

More awesome pics!!! :)
Love the Declaration with the amazing penmanship!
Mostly, a long lost art. DWifey still has amazing handwriting, but, me not so much.
DWifey does this when I sign my name to anything...
My chicken scratch signature from my latest drivers license...and, this is one of my better ones these days...

No way can I post DWifeys siggy, 'cause it's waaayyyyy too legible, and we don't know any of y'all remotely close to that well...!!!!! :hilarious: ;)
My mom had AMAZING handwriting. It was so even and symmetrical...it was almost like a uniform font, but then it was cursive. It's a good thing I never got into trouble because no one could have ever forged her signature for me!! I remember a kid in my class wanting me to sign his mom's name on his homework slip once when he forgot to get her to sign. I did not have that option.

It's a female thing !!!
Most definitely not!! You should have seen my dad. And my ex-boyfriend. Both were TERRIBLE drivers. My dad...speed limit of 75 on the interstate and he's driving 35 to be "cautious", misses the exit he needs and BACKS UP. Or, we were coming out of a parking lot after dinner and we get onto a small road and we come to a stoplight. When the light turns green, he's still sitting there, and just as it's turning red, he decides to go and turns into the wrong lane...into oncoming traffic. Again, has to back up and go around the divider he didn't see. If there had been a policeman around, I'm confident he'd have lost his license.

My ex had cross eyes, and could only use one eye at a time. Both worked, just not at the same time. So he had little depth perception and no peripherals. I can't count the number of times he almost wrecked because he made a left turn with a car coming at us who had to hit the breaks and he'd swear he had "plenty of room". Um...no...you didn't. And because of the lack of peripherals, he missed a lot of street signs...like "one way" signs. None of my friends would even get in a car with him.

Black Friday apparently moved to Black Thursday this year :cautious::cautious: so it looks like I'll be getting up at 4:15 on Thanksgiving instead of the day after. Le sigh....
What happens to a sale on Thanksgiving if no one shows up?
They don't ever have one on Thanksgiving again. It is amazing how just a little self control can alter things drastically.

LOL that's not actually how this works. Thanksgiving day sales are a byproduct of e-commerce, not "people showing up". They need the extra day of sales to compete with companies like Amazon.

Also, with the sales in the morning instead of during turkey dinner time, it doesn't affect anyone's Thanksgiving plans anyway. Except, maybe that we'll all yawn a bit more or need a nap.

If you disagree with it you can not show up by not doing any e-commerce. It is still controllable. Personally they can have all the e-commerce they want along with black Fridays and any other promotion designed to make me do stuff I don't want too. They might get rich from doing that, but, don't point any fingers at me... I wasn't involved.

Now I do e-commerce at other times, like I just did 80% of my Christmas shopping sitting at my computer for an hour two days ago. The stuff I get more then likely will not be the promoted items that the super holiday enticements offer, so I don't really care about that.

Don't go by me though... I hate the holidays. I like Thanksgiving, but, if we could just jump from that to January 2nd, I could get behind that move.

I Black Friday shop every year, but not for the hottest items, LOL. My friends all make fun of me because I go for the BOGO underpants, BOGO windshield wipers, various discounted pet foods/treats we can donate for my daughter's birthday, and random other practical items.

I don't Christmas shop during Black Friday, but I'm one of those annoying people that have already made/bought all the presents by now and have them all wrapped too.

Saving so much money on things we already need/use is worth it to me. Especially for the pet supplies. I can end up donating 2-3 times what I could afford on any other day. That alone is worth an early wake up :)
