We had a bus driver that liked to talk on their cell phone, silly person forgot we have cameras on our buses. Silly person left with no unemployment check:D

We have such a shortage of bus drivers. While the hourly rate is fair the split shift and in some cases morning noon and afternoon-well it is hard pressed for many to give up 10 hours of their day for 5 or 6 at best of hourly pay. We have the same issue with our crossing guards. An hour 3x a day. :in pain: Can't really do anything else. Worse is additional lunch room staff. 60 minutes a day. And they wonder why the positions are hard to fill and the hires are less than stellar.

Me, if they consolidated some of these job classifications and hired the same individual to fill a couple categories they might receive some more promising hires. Then again I do not have the doctorate degree they have.

:jawdrop: Speechless . . .

I wasn't speechless 3x's with my opinions of this dude but when you need a majority.. Me, I voted to dismiss him with selling candy to his students on the bus.

Some people have a long tolerance level for hard to fill positions. Me I'm a set the bar and set a standard type of gal. I have little patience for adults vs captive children. Both of my Children had the same bus driver all their years of elementary/middle school. She safeguarded those kids like her own. For Christmas and Years End I always bought her very nice Gift Cards, I genuinely appreciated her. On the day and few days after of 9/11 she made sure (given the unknown of the moment) that each students was met by a parent (unusual) or another parent agreed to escort another child to their home. All on edge rightfully. She really cared about the wealth-fare of her students. My kids were blessed. Funny she also picked up shifts for my kids club swim meets too.

Yep, there's always those. Again, all the local bureaucrats falling all over themselves to pee away our hard-earned tax dollars 'cause it's "in the city's best interest". Aren't they just little gems...!!! :bored:

Yeah. None of it hits my area so I'm just following it more from a state kinda view of jobs and tax revenue not that we have any control over all that. But some of these Cities are giving away the cookies but in reality the rewards do not cover the batter.

TIF isn't a bad incentive in very confined circumstances. Detroit is recovering well because of a well thought out plan for abandoned areas. Something better long term rather than nothing long term. Most of these proposals are giving away the farm, I'd only be happy if I was an Amazon stockholder. .

I'm happy how the World Series ended. They only waited half as long as my Cubbies did last year and my Cubbies made it far enough to be proud of their year. Something about a team that just 'wants' it so badly but it never happened for them. We had that last year so I'm happy for the Champs this year.

I pulled that one off FB. I'm guessing it is a serving station for wait staff???? We ate on the porch. I only had one of that and our food as we were not indoors so I pulled the few photo's off their FB Page for Donaldtoo

I know they have Chuy's in Orlando, multiple. A possibility. I recommend it.
Yeah, I looked up the menu, and they have chicken nuggets, so DS might actually eat there!! We were planning on going to a Mexican restaurant last weekend for a date night, but then FIL ended up in the hospital and those plans went up in smoke. No one was worried about a date night with that going on, even if my MIL had been able to take the kids. I think our date nights might be at an end until the kids are old enough to fend for themselves. My FIL is just not in good enough health and my MIL really isn't up to doing everything herself anymore either. But DS won't eat Mexican food, so we can't really go out with the kids unless the restaurant has fries and chicken nuggets or a hotdog, and most places around here don't. But I found several things on Chuy's menu that looked good...Now I'm craving Mexican food!

When my parents got divorced, my mom hadn't been in the workforce for over a decade...The bank wasn't hiring, and that's what she had her experience in. So instead she set up her own business cleaning houses, and in between those jobs, she was a crossing guard. She'd go in the morning to do Crossing guard duty, then go to her first cleaning job, come back at lunch and eat in the car and do the lunch crossing guard duty, clean her second house, and then come back in the afternoon for crossing guard duty after school. In the evenings she took in laundry and ironing and babysat neighborhood kids whose parents worked at the mine. She worked harder than anyone I have ever known....you'd be hard-pressed to find someone willing to do all that these days. Or someone who COULD...it's hard to combine jobs.

I don't watch baseball, but I was glad that the Houston team won. The people in that area needed some cheerful news after the hurricane they experienced down there. It takes a long time for everything to get back to normal after a weather crisis.
