I agree. While Minneapolis isn't really a Port City it sure isnt far for their needs. Not that analysis's really know it all by any means it seems the majority are leaning towards Texas. This is even better than following who will hold the Olympics.

I haven't even payed close enough attention to know what other cities in Texas may be in contention... :cyclops:

The ones I heard of are Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio. The thought is Austin will win because of the lifestyle for the young and a criteria also for Higher Education.

While Chicago has NorthWestern University and University of Chicago and lots of young draws, dang it is cold. Then again they built in Seattle and I don't want to live there either.

I wish Kapono would be that great on walks.

Maybe it is a retriever thing. Both my Golden's and Walt carried their own leashes. I'd nab them whenever it got to congested or Pups or little ones were too close as parents rightfully didn't know them. Now my Shepard, if I gave her the leash she would have said WooHoo see ya in a few hours or so.

Not anymore.
It used to be here from october to february every week on the wednesday (except the days it did the Panama Canal ones).
But then, there was a robbery in a tour group which had DCL visitors (armed guys with big guns) and DCL decided to be more cautious.

Ohhh....I forgot about all that and yep I remember now. Maybe everyone will play nice now.

I went to see my Primary Care Doctor today, and she did an EKG in the office. She also referred me to a cardiologist, and I have a January 2nd appointment there. In the meantime, I am scheduled for an echocardiogram on Monday of next week. She added another pill to me for my elevated blood pressure, and I will begin taking cholesterol medicine. Didn't want to do that last thing, but we will see how I react to that. My doctor also requested that I put off my cataract surgery until after my appointment with the cardiologist.

January 2nd ?#&$*@ Seriously? How did the EKG look??? Echo's are a piece of cake at least. One would think if Primary thought it was serious a week for an Echo and over 2 months to speak to a Cardio Doc? Dear Lord. I guess the way around it is to land in the ER room and they do all that in a few hours.
Jimmney Crickets already!

Yep, that's what I figured...the usual suspects. ;)
And yes, the higher education and lifestyle aspects are here. But again, especially depending on where in the area they would want to put it, our transportation is seriously lacking.
It's possible that those, with incredibly proper planning, improvements could all coincide to make it all happen properly, but, some of our transportation fiascos surely make it seem improbable.
They just went MILLIONS of dollars over and three years past predicted completion date to add one lousy toll lane going north and one lousy one going south on a major, heavily-traveled highway just west of downtown. Granted, they had to do a little tunneling, but, it certainly wasn't even remotely close to anything approaching major stuff. Some of the excuses from the company..,
"The Rock was harder than we thought (yep, rock is, generally, hard  :cyclops:), the weather, blah, blah, blah.
It's not impossible (especially, if they finally found a competent company to build the roads, infrastructure, but, sooo many things would hafta' align, and there is sooo much tough competition out there, that it seems like a very slim chance for us, IMO.

Me, one they wattle it down from all those proposals that have the transit, Universities and lifestyle they are looking for what they are really likely looking for who puts up the most attractive TIF proposal.

Update time:
My FIL got all tubes removed today. They were going to try him on some solid food today and as soon as that goes well, he'll be released.

DS got to go see his new school today and meet his new class briefly, though his teacher was out sick so it was the assistant teaching, but it was so quiet in there and they had already told the class that DS was going to come this week. I so hope he'll make friends quickly. But he really liked what he saw anyway. He gets to start tomorrow, but Wednesday is an inservice day, so then he'll go back on Thursday...he'll have a day to process. So it's good.

Great news on both fronts...!!!!! :)
