Thank you. We brought a whole case of water with us and a backpack FULL of granola bars, cereal bars, apple sauce, etc.
Once we got here, we bought Gatorade and fruit.

I don't think our lives are in peril, else wise we wouldn't have come. I do think we are in for two days of dreadful weather!
We went through Charlie in WDW. All things considered, I'd rather go through a hurricane there than here.

I took Belle to the vet for a check up and to get her shots. She didn't get shots. The vet believes she may have an autoimmune disorder which is attacking her paw pads. They look horrible. So bloodwork for that. Waiting to hear about the results.

And she needs dental work done. She might have to have a couple of teeth pulled; they're causing gum problems for her. The vef showed me, and I could see they were bleeding.

Also, every time we put her on the table, she would climb onto my shoulder. The tech finished taking her weight, and she immediately crawled up onto my shoulder. Then refused to get off when she needed an exam.

Poor baby.

Can't give a like for this. She's so young, and this is sad that she's having these medical issues. I hope for a speedy solution for kitty.

Thanks. I researched it, and the treatment is usually antibiotics and steroids. I know from experience that's no fun.

The vet said as for the teeth, there's a chance she could regrow them. Never heard that before, but if that was the case, that would be great.

We gave her wet food last night, and she went to town on it. And then was still hungry. Since she's not a pig, we gave her more.
It is definitely not fun giving antibiotics to a cat. When our Tigger had a UTI dh and I were scratched up for over a week. Regrow teeth? Never heard that before either.

Little Prince's first day of school. Though 18000 pounds a year is kinda crazy. It's like he is in university.

When we lived in New Jersey in the early 2000's, there was a private school that charged almost $30,000 a year. So while that is insane, it is not unheard of. He is a very cute little boy.

Yep hubs is a fan of famous daves. The sauce on the counter isn't the regular Famous Daves but a different style. Hubs saw it on sale for $1.99 and thought it might go goodnwith the brisket. We had it on rib tips at the Famous Daves restaurant once. It has a nice tang to it.

Fun fact: the guy who founded Famous Daves is from Northern Wisconsin, about an hour and twenty minutes from me. In recent years he was removed from the Famous Daves company and started a new BBQ restaurant/brand (hubs is actually using that rub from the new brand on his brisket). Soon after he left FD the restaurants and company started to have financial difficulty and the quality at the restaurants started to go downhill. We knew someone that worked at a restaurant and he told us about all the corners they were told to cut. So anyway, soon Dave was asked back to be the consultant on food quality and has helped turn it back around yet still owns the new brand. His new brand just a couple restaurants and he seems ok with that.
That explains a lot. When they opened a FD's near us where we used to live when we just had 2 toddlers, we would get take-out from them all the time. Loved their sides. Then we moved to PA and there was none by us. Drove to Frederick, MD a couple of years ago and saw one there. When we went inside it all looked so worn out and dirty. Staff was not the best and the food was just eh.

The like is for the apples but only 19 days until fall is a giant dislike
I double thumbs up this. :D
Heat? o_O And it was 62 out? :hilarious:
I have been known to turn on the heated seats in my car with those temps. ;) After having our car for a year, I learned my Suburban has a heated steering wheel. That made my winter somewhat bearable in the car last year. :)

Good morning everyone. I'm back on line with my new glasses. They are so good. I like high definition lenses, I see much better at night and the daytime. I've only been outside once in over a week, because of the smoke. I can no longer see the mountains. We are in a fog of smoke, so migraines are a daily problem I go to bed with one and get up with one. Too many fires in the west, and we have been in the path of heavy smoke for the last week.

We have even been having haze around here from the wildfires. I have been able to see it but it hasn't had any effect on my breathing of anything. The haze is weird though.

Me too. Our cruise may have to be cancelled in October we were going to the Bahama's St. Martin, and Puerto Rico. Maybe another vacation is not in the works for us this year. It was happening next month. Oh well, there is always next year. I hope everyone stays safe in this hurricane. Poor Texas, they can't get a break, either.

Are you thinking it will be cancelled because of hurricane impact? Maybe they will just change the itinerary.

Belle was on antibiotics a while back. Not fun. She won't scratch or hiss (she won't even attack the vet; vets like her because she doesn't beat them up); she'll just fight. Did you know cats can slobber? Neither did I until pilling my cat.

Thankfully, this antibiotic comes in liquid form.

Well, she's nine, which is considered a senior cat. My mom's cat Mischief started getting recurrent UTIs at about the same age and had to go on special food. The good news with Belle is that she doesn't have anything life-threatening at this point, and her blood work has all come back good. Moxie, my tabby, died of kidney failure at age 10, so I'm grateful that Belle won't. The rest we can deal with. She's on her special food and doing well, so that's good.

In other news.. my uncle shared on facebook a video..
The river is now at 140%.

Only 3 meters of separations before the water covers the first bridge..
River has started to spill sideways in some areas and there is some minor flooding in some of the lower housing complex on the other side of the river.

No damage on our side. Other than the nearby treatment plant backing up some raw sewage in a street nearby.. and smelling bad.

Google says there are multiple causes of this, from fungal to allergy reaction.
Did your doc find which one is it?
She doesn't believe it's an allergic reaction since we haven't changed litter. The other cause could be FIV, but there's zero chance Belle has that. She was FIV free when we got her, and the only other cat she's had contact with is Jasmine, and Jasmine doesn't have it either. Her bloodwork came back normal, so no other underlying causes.

Either way, the antibiotic is usually the first line of treatment, so we'll start with that. It's actually one I was on for an infection in my foot. What a coincidence.
