As for squishing them ... there is nothing that says "job well done" as much as the sound of an arachnid being crunched between the folds of two-ply Kleenex.

Do you not fear that by vacuuming them up, they may arrive alive to the cannister, find all kinds of good stuff to eat, lay eggs ... which then hatch into little spider-ettes, that will make the long journey back through the hose, eventually to lay in wait in your bedroom? :hilarious:
Squish 'em. Then flush 'em.
I hate squishing them. I did it with the one that was on me. Ugh, no

When I vacuum them, I end up just vacuuming the whole room. I can see inside of the canister, so I don't think they can survive that. Then the canister gets dumped in the trash.
I don't have all the details of the one that bit you, but aren't mostly all spider bites benign? (Along the lines of snakes, most are not lethal.) Having stated the above, I certainly wouldn't want either one to bite me! :jawdrop:
It was mostly a problem of where it was and how deep it was. Had to go to my doctor for that one. She said yup, spider bite and that if I hadn't been on an antibiotic, it would have been bad. Not life-threatenning, but because of where it was, it would have been a problem. And it probably wouldn't have been as bad if it had been elsewhere on my body, but the skin there isn't particularly thin, and I developed a blister there all filled up. She had my stay on my oral steroids and antibiotic a few days longer than normal. I still have a scar.

My morning so far:
  • Nearly slipped on ice going out to my car
  • Could not get the ice off my windshield, ended up having to take my mom's car
  • Nearly slipped into another car when parking because of ice on the parking lot
  • Nearly fell on ice on the way into school
  • Ran 10 minutes late to class (professor was okay with that because she ran late too. And she nearly slipped on ice)
It's just going to be one of THOSE days, isn't it?

Have a feeling heads are going to roll over this ongoing debacle. The governor was not pleased with them, and made it clear in 2 press conferences yesterday.

So speaking of the MBTA, they have completely shut down the system today. My boss called last night and realized public transit would not be operating at all today, and for me to stay home (again . . .).

At least today is my birthday, and I'd much rather be home than at work. So I'm going to enjoy my day off!

Funny story...well not funny, really. A few years ago, it started snowing like crazy around midday and by the time elementary/middle school got out of school, there was a couple inches. Business let their people go home too around that time. So therefore, traffic jam with snow. Therefore, kids were stuck on the bus for hours, mostly in Providence. Therefore, someone "resigned," aka...fired. Hence why they cancel school like crazy around here now.

As you can tell, I like to use the words hence and therefore. Conspiracy is another word I like

I hope your day gets better. Please walk very slowly on the ice and in particular, watch out for black ice. It's hiding, hard to spot, and dangerous.
