I need to buy a longer hose. The one I have lets me water everything in the back yard, but nothing in the front yard. I can't keep carrying the sprinkle can out front to get the pots, and ignore the ground plants. I just wish we could get one good overnight rain. My husband plans on making a Target run tomorrow, so I am going to look for a hose there. However, they are rearranging everything at out Target store, so I'm not sure if they will have any good hoses in stock.
Well you know summer hasn't even officially started but Target will start putting out the fall stuff any day now.

Sympathy like.
My commute to or from the office generally takes about 30-45 mins., depending on the time I leave, and the time of year. With school being out, the drive in is definitely quicker. The drive home is generally a little quicker.
But, as I posted last week, we had those big storms that one day for 2 straight hours before I left the office. I left at about 6:30 and didn't get home 'til about 8.
It would have probably been 8:30 or later if I hadn't noticed from an overpass that another side highway looked clear. I was prepared to go all the way north to catch a different main highway (because my country back road was flooded out) with all the other lemmings. I went up to the next crossover and headed back a few hundred yards south to get on that clear highway. Once I got on it, I was home in 10 mins. :)

We had a lot of snow once that happened to get bad right as rush hour began. My 15 minute commute home took me almost three hours. I so feel your pain on this and hope you don't have a bad weather commute again for a long time. You've filled your quota!

Yeah. About 10 years ago I stopped going to inlaw events minus weddings, showers, MIL 90th and Funerals. These people had things going always, very cult-ie MIL the grand matriarch. She even drove my FIL batty that would have been happier reading his newspaper. Miss that dude. RIP A good guy.

Same. We went up to the in-laws house for Thanksgiving a few years ago and because of everyone traveling at the same time, it took us 4 hours to get there and 5 hours to get home. So we drove in the car for 9 hours to eat dry turkey and hang out for an hour and a half. Nope. No thank you. We skip mostly all events except Christmas now, which is usually celebrated not on actual Christmas day. We go up a few times a year just to hang out and it's so much better than going during a family event anyway. We get a lot more face time with them and they have more time to play with the kid.

My band went to Boston when I was in high school! I had so much fun over there
Of course, there were a lot of set backs and technical difficulties getting there (and getting home, whoo boy), but that didn't detract from the experience.

Thank you! My grandma is physically doing better. She's in a nursing home recovering and doing rehab. I bought a stained glass piece in Alaska for her, and it's hanging up in her room now. However, her eyesight isn't great, so she couldn't see the pictures I took, but she did enjoy all of my stories. I need to download all of the pictures to the computer for her to look at, and probably bring a magnifying glass. Emotionally, Grandma's okay. She doesn't like being in the nursing home. My grandpa, her husband, spent the last 5 years of his life there, and she knows how lonely it can be. There seems to be at least one resident there who is trying to get her to be more active with other people though, so that's a plus.

Another plus- she didn't trip over my dog (which was a huge fear of mine). She fell getting out of bed, but luckily, she had her lifeline necklace on.

I was so exhausted on Saturday, that when I got home, I almost immediately started crying when I was holding my dog. She was a good pupper though and licked away tears. Poor thing has also had a bit of a rough time. She's 14, and is losing a lot of control over her body. My parents thought it would be best to move her downstairs onto a non-carpeted area, so she's had to get used to that, plus not being at my grandma's for 'doggy daycare' for 5 days a week. :( One of my friends who works near my house is taking care of her during the day now, so at least she'll have a new routine.
I hope your grandmother has a speedy recovery. Attitude is everything, plus it is important that she gets lots of visits from family members. That will help. Glad you have help for your dog. Animals can sure be a great comfort when things seem horrible.

Cheerleading now has more injuries than any other hs sport, I'm told, and is incredibly athletic. The way those girls "fly" scares me. Poms is more like a dance team with pom poms. Cheerleaders don't have poms.
Cheerleading

Poms

My youngest, dd6, was on a cheer prep team the last 2 years. She is starting a full year mini team(5-8 yr olds) today. I have watched the older girls practice and they most certainly are very strong girls. They were a small team this year with only 13 kids, but then 4 got hurt. Surprisingly none of the injuries were from cheer. ;) My little one was a flyer in one stunt last season. It was nothing too big as the kids were only 4-6 years old. I am curious to see the sizes of the other kids today because that will determine my little ones placement.
Cheerleading is actually going to be in the Olympics during the next summer Olympics. :)

Annnd, put in order by date, my top 10 pictures (since I can only include 10 at a time, and I didn't want to upload all of them to this site :p )
Gorgeous pictures! Love the little harbor with the boats.

I could send you some of our rain, we have gotten a lot. Over the weekend while we were with the in-laws in Michigan it stormed really bad in our area including hail. About 40 minutes away from us there was so much hail they had to bring out plows to clear it off the streets.

That doesn't look like it was fun. Glad it missed you. And glad you didn't have to deal with coming home to heavy hail damage after your "lovely" trip.

Right now my travel bucket list includes Paris, London, Scotland, Ireland and Goinsey.
My bucket travel list is extensive....Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Greece, Disneyland, The grand canyon, the redwood forest...and those are just the places I've never been. (Technically, I've been to Disneyland, but I was not even a year old...I don't think that counts.) And within Italy, I want to see Rome, Florence, Sicily, Tuscany...I want to see it all. Same with Greece....Santorini, Mykonos, Athens, etc. But there are places I've been but didn't get to see everything. I'd love to go back to London, I really want to see Stonehenge closer, not just driving by like last time, I still haven't seen everything in Paris even though I've been there twice, I'd like to go back to Berlin and see a bit more, I want to go back to New York and I'd like to venture to Connecticut to find some genealogy info, I'd like to take my family to see Yellowstone. I've been there several times myself, but DH and the kids haven't. And of course I'd like to do the South Dakota tour again, but see things we missed last Summer. And of course I always want to go to Disneyworld.

With all my complaining here is a bright spot. When I went to pick up the dog yesterday from my sister's house, she (the dog, not my sister) greeted me with a ton of kisses and just couldn't snuggle close enough. And I also got to spend time with my niece yesterday afternoon, she and I went to the Dairy Queen and got dipped cones. We got mediums, and just a word of warning....the mediums are HUGE! But they were delicious!

Speaking of the dog, I gotta go take her to the vet. She needs her nails done. And she does not enjoy it.

Yuck! I saw on facebook this morning that Wyoming got some really bad storm systems and baseball sized hail, and tornados last night. I don't miss that!!

My dog also hates getting her nails done. I hope it goes smooth for you today!
