Sympathy like.
Again, hope you're feelin' better by now...! :)

Woof. The ol' nebulizer. Our super premie DS did those treatments for several years as a young child. Thankfully, he hasn't needed anything of the sort in about a coupla' decades.
I'll never forget the sound of that thing...both during the treatment and then when it started to run dry.

I can't even call what we had this year a winter.
It was more like a cool spring. And, even then, those days were few and far between.
Our high yesterday was 83, but, it only got up to 66 today. Back up to 71 tomorrow, then rainy and a high of only 66 again on Saturday. :cyclops:
I'm so glad I never needed a nebulizer when I was very young. It's a pain as an adult; can't even imagine what it's like as a youngster. I didn't have one until I was diagnosed at age 8. I had a pediatrician who happened to be very good with asthma; she had me on a nebulizer the day I was diagnosed. I never had to wear the mask, thank goodness; it was always just the mouthpiece. The newer machines are much quieter than they used to be. My first machine was a noisy thing. The cats were actually afraid of it at first; they got used to it, but wouldn't come near me until it was off. Belle was never afraid of it like the boys were. She'll rub against the mouthpiece while I'm using it. I'm like, "That's not helpful, cat!":hilarious: The oldest machines that they had at school were super noisy. The one I have that lives in my room now is less noisy. Smaller too. I also have a portable nebulizer that lives in my car and goes with me on vacation. It it about the size of my hand. That thing is not noisy at all. You can go into the next room and not even me able to tell it's on.

The benefit of having to always do the nebs was when I went snorkeling in Hawaii for the first time, I had no problem breathing through the gear. I was already used to breathing through a tube. My parents won't snorkel with me because they despise breathing through a tube. I was like, "Whelp, nothing I'm not already used to doing!":joyfull:

DS used the mask for a little while before he started using the mouthpiece. With the mouthpiece he would always try to talk and little puffs would be comin' out of his mouth...!!! :hilarious: We always used to have to remind him to be quiet and breath it all in, otherwise it won't do any good...!
I figured the nebulizers were probably much quieter these days, good to "hear" that...! :D  ;)
And, that's cool that you have one that's also so portable and adaptable...! :)

You're so right sick people should stay home. After shopping a few weeks ago I was in a panic because the cashier I had was quite sick. Luckily I had a combination of good fortune and hand sanitizer but ............. I'm sure others were not so lucky. My dh is lucky he gets paid sick leave and where he works the rule is keep your germs at home and do not share:joyfull:

And people still say climate change is an hoax.

For about the last year and a half when I was a CM at the Disney Store in our local mall we did almost the exact same thing to open the Store every morning. We didn't do the Genie thing or have a lock, but we had the podium and the ropes as well as a little Magical trinket for the child that was picked to repeat a Magical phrase so the ropes would drop to open the Store.
It was a lot more fun than unceremoniously just pullin' the gates back! ;) And yep, it was pretty corny, but, the Guests, especially the kiddos, always seemed to enjoy it very much...! :)
Didn't the pattern get old fast for you? aka too much effort?

Weather is a bit wacko lately all over the country. A few days ago, in a tiny town out in western MA, they had an EF1 tornado (110 mph) that came out of nowhere--did some really severe damage to some homes and a church. Not only is it unusual for a tornado in MA (although we've had them, but it's rare), but especially in February?!

That's pretty crazy.
Prayers to all affected.

Man.. reminds me I havent had good fresh cajeta in years..
Fresh cajeta never has little condensed balls.. and has super creamy texture.
The "brand" packaged ones have always this "dusty" feel like there is sand (dried mixture).

This one is very thick (think 90 weight gear lube ;)), but, very YUM-O-RAMA...!!!!! :hungry:
One of our co-workers is from Venezuela, and she has done this several times to treat us...! :)

I believe it's this one...

Oh, we all do the talking past the mouthpiece thing. School nurse used to yell at me for it. That was high school.:hilarious:

I still remember my dad's reaction the first time he saw me using it: "What is she smoking?" Yeah, nope.:cautious:

We got the portable one when I went to college. In high school, if I needed a treatment, the nurse's office had the machine, but in college, I would have had to go to health services (and possibly be charged) every time I needed a treatment, plus if I was over at the other campus, I was stuck. We had seen the portable nebs advertised on TV, so we looked into it. Mine has a car adapter, so I can just use it in my car. It also plugs into a wall. Thankfully, I had it the other night when the power went off in the middle of the treatment. Out to the car I went to finish. Life with a chronic condition at its finest.

Sincerely, so sorry you have to still deal with all of that, and other health issues that you have. But, at least you have a sense of humor about it all (although I'm sure it's constantly tested ;)) most of the time.
And, although all of that is still a PITA, at least medical tech has advanced a good deal over the years to help...! :)

Again, feel better soon so you can get to doin' on that awesome new job...!!! :)
