@ajrwdwgirl , our local PBS station aired the Rick Steves European Christmas special (from 2015, I believe--I've seen it a few times of the past years). Not sure if you've seen it yet on your area's PBS station. I always look forward to it each Christmas season. (I recall you mentioned you liked his travel shows.) :)
I loved that one, I always like learning how people celebrate holidays:joyfull:

@MinnieM123 you would have been so proud of me yesterday! My dh has been asking for something for a couple of years and it's just kept getting pushed off. It's something for a hobby he's been looking to get into.

What's the hobby, if you don't mind me asking?
Along with the guitar, I have also taken a coupla' stained glass classes and dabbled a bit in wood carving/crafting over the years. :)

in other news, health hit me square again.. I guess this influenza likes a round 2 (it happened to my mother 2 days ago as well).
So slept until 1:00 pm today.
and couldnt sleep all night.
So tried to be productive and installed the latest parts of my computer to replace the faulty ones.
Now to sell online the obsolete older parts that actually work.

Also, this is the third day of constant rains.. didnt stop raining yesterday night. Very strange for this month.
It usually rains in early January.
Sympathy like, I'm so sorry ! It seems like you always have a great vacation and the blech GWS xoxo

My Girl Golden had a routine with new stuffed animals...first order of business was to chew the eyeballs out and then the nose. Walt had to unstuff his critters and was very methodical about it. But here are two toys that I had good luck with.

They had to spend much TIME to destroy those.

My dogs have always enjoyed the Nylabones. Kapono loves to destroy toys although lately there are some she destroys within second and few she has had for a couple years. She has gone through some of the "indestructibles" in seconds others minutes, but none of the indestructibles have lasted longer than a week. I buy a lot of the cheap toys figuring she can have more toys to "love" for the same $$ as the indestructible ones. I haven't tried the leather one though, that might be worth a whirl.

Jack knows how to have fun. Dogs can crack you up on a daily basis. Our dogs always got wrapped presents under the tree. Only Freddy, would take them out, but not open. Wiggles waited until Christmas. Dogs are like people...my sister searched for her presents all over the house, and would unwrap hers. Me I didn't want to know until Christmas morning.

I love surprises and never peaked at my Christmas or birthday presents. It was no secret that Mom put the presents in her closet but I was never tempted to look. To me it was exciting that they were there and there would be fun things to see on Christmas morning or for my birthday. Once they were wrapped and put under the tree, they were fair game for a gentle shake or squeeze though.

When hubby and I got married we were talking about Christmas presents and he bragged about how he always peeked at his presents as a kid and said even when he was in college and beyond when he went home he snooped. He eluded to still thinking that he would snoop at his presents that he would get from me. That was when the conversation got serious, I turned to him and told him that if he snooped to see his presents from me ever and I found out I would return them or give them away. Until I gave them to him, it was my property and private and I didn't plan on snooping in his private property and I didn't expect him to invade mine. We were married, but we didn't have to share everything! In addition to being surprised for getting presents I have enjoyed more the surprise in giving gifts to people. To my knowledge he has never snooped, he must have realized that I would indeed return his presents or give them away. I actually booby-trap my bags so I will know if he has been in them. :)

Thanks for the heads up and remembering that I like his shows. I didn't see it listed yet on our PBS stations (I have three that we can get in here), I will have to keep searching for it. I do like that special, and his travel shows. They are informative and fun, yet if I put one on at night it puts me to sleep in minutes. Actually, Martha Stewart's voice puts me to sleep too, when I was single if I couldn't get to sleep her show was on about 10:30 on Food network or something and that would knock me right out.
