Out for me. Time to make pizza. I've been craving it. Fun to all tonight! xoxo
I had pizza too. :hungry:

We have a pizza place within walking distance from school that makes personal pizzas to order. Flat rate, unlimited toppings. I had marinara sauce with mozzarella cheese, spinach, tomato, chicken, and mushrooms. It was delicious. :hungry:

It was one of those things where I was like, "Whelp, I'm leaving soon, so I gotta do this once more."

And now I'm feeling sad.

IMO, some of your impressions are true. Yet, in spite of all the negatives we can find, we can also find more positives, but we need to want to see the positives. That's how it's always worked (for me anyway).

Yep. Some situations I struggle to see the positives in but the overwhelming majority of things I can at least not get my shorts in a knot in over or make some lemonade out of. My favorite pessimistic character is Mr. Heckles though. Always taking the Friends to task. 'till the Friends knocked him off one episode.

And why we go and visit my DD University a couple times a year when we are in Central Illinois. It is massive so we have plenty to do and a couple nice hotels for cheap down that way. It is always a fun roadtrip.

Now, this rings a bell. My grandparents (even more than my parents) would repair everything. If they couldn't get it repaired, they'd repurpose it. Examples: Cigar boxes were good for storing nuts and bolts in my grandfather's workshop. My grandmother saved old clothes and cut out squares, and made quilts from them. You're right--we live in a throwaway society now, and that's not progress at all.

It is hard to compare generations though. I don't even know anyone who smokes cigars, not thinking there are as many boxes out there to be had these days as there once were when it was popular to smoke cigars socially. My one Gran was a real saver and recycler especially with clothing items. That Gran never held a job outside the home. Frankly I don't have a lot of time needed to cut squares out of old fabric and create a quilt. We use to have TVs with tubes in them and they would be replaced as needed or the TV repairman would take the TV away and returned fixed. Now it is cheaper to toss it than have it repaired. My gym shoes cannot be re-soled or heeled like my real good expensive shoes can. But I did take Walter's leash twice to the shoe maker to be resewn. It was expensive and soft leather, worth the $20 for them to fix.

But other things if we are being fair are tossed less as example light bulbs where my kitchen fan bulbs would last a few months now they last at least 7 years. I use to have buy replacement batteries for my older cell phones but now they last as long as my phone does and hold a charge longer using less electricity. My truck gets so much better gas mileage than my Mustang did and that one loved Premium Gas. My refrigerators last about the same length of time but take so much less electricity to operate. I don't use charcol that needs to be tossed anymore, I love my gas grill and the coals only need to be replaced every 5 years. My Christmas Lights don't die anymore when one bulb goes out like they use to. Unlike my Big Bulbs I had when I was just married they don't burn out and get tossed, the LEDs just last longer and are more efficient. I had an artificial Christmas tree for 25 years, got away from fresh trees that were tossed after a month. Do to refrigeration improvements and storage food lasts longer now and not as much waste. We have the ability to freeze and save where my Gran's ice box did not.

Every era looses some old stand-bye ways of life and in turn we make new milestones in what we improve upon.

Hee hee . . . hubs made pizza tonight and brought me 2 slices, upstairs in our computer room. He goes back downstairs and a certain D O G was pulling a slice off his plate on the kitchen table--I knew this because I heard him yelling at Jack: "You stinking mutt--give me back my pizza!" Then a commotion--Jack comes barreling up the stairs with a whole slice of pizza hanging out of his mouth, and hubs was running up behind him -- yelling at Jack to "Drop IT!!!"

HAHHAHHAA!!! :hilarious: (Not to worry, there were at least 3 slices left on the pizza pan, so hubs still had enough slices.) Meanwhile, Jack inhaled his absconded slice once he escaped from hubs! :D
If you ever need a sitter, just call:joyfull: But be warned he may come home a bit spoiled:D
