Mmmhmmm.

If my bedroom door is closed and Belle wants in, she will meow relentlessly (and loudly) until I let her in.

When she wants attention, she just jumps in my lap and stands on my chest, even if the laptop was there first.

If her water bowl is empty, she'll sit by it and stare at us until we fill it.

If the automatic feeder is empty, you can't get anything done until you fill it.

Evidently, if I'm gone all day, she walks around complaining about it.

She also complains if there's nothing to look at outside.

The other night, she wanted to sleep with me. As soon as I went upstairs, she followed me up and laid on my bed while staring at me until I cuddled with her.

Can cats have their own forum member accounts on WDW Magic? I think Belle would fit in nicely on the threads with her behaviors!! :p

I know what you mean. Yesterday I went to my dentist because I had this small growth on my gum. It was directly below a tooth that I had capped around 7 years ago. Just a short history, I have never had tooth problems, not even cavities, but years ago I bit into a McDonalds Qtr. Pounder and came in contact with a small brass bolt. This, of course, was way before we were all sue happy. I showed it to the manager, he shrugged his shoulders and walked away. So did I. I few days later I went to my dentist because it was very cold sensitive. They used some resin type stuff that was cured by ultra violet light. Believe it or not that lasted for over 20 year, then I bought a bubble gum ball on a whim, bit into it and cracked the tooth again.

All that for this... I had it repaired and a crown put on. It never has felt right, but, never really a problem. Then this little "bump" showed up. I didn't really react to it for around 5 months then last week when I had a physical I had my doctor look at it and she recommended that I go to my dentist. I did.. they figured out that I had an abscess under the tooth and that I needed one of two things. A root canal or extraction. They pushed hard for the root canal because getting an appliance to fill in the missing space would end up casting me as much anyway. (btw... $1250.00 for the root canal) I have no dental insurance since I retired. When I suggested that they just pull it out ($300.00) you would have thought that I had kidnapped their grandmother. Oh, you can't do that. I look around and see many people that just had teeth pulled out with no obvious problem. It is a molar in the back of my mouth (next to last) it doesn't show unless I am yelling at someone. Anyway, it's a $900.00 difference in price. So if anyone has any stories. Even nightmare types about either procedure, please share them. I really am getting tired of throwing good money after bad. Dental things is an area where I have had almost no experience except cleaning and that crown. Yes, I do consider that a blessing.

Dentists will upsell, so go with what you think is best--extraction. At your age, you'll live without the tooth. In a younger person, they could do a root canal and then a bridge--or an implant. All of that is very expensive (especially implants). I've never done implants but have had a few bridges done over the years. I learned years ago to advocate for myself in the dentist chair and never accept their first option. I've always worn them down to cheaper alternatives, for the most part. It really depends on where the tooth is, and again the age of the person. (Lastly, I've had a few root canals that didn't work, so I needed to have a few extractions. And I went to the best endodontists in the city at that.)

Salvation Army stores are like Goodwill, they take almost anything.

I don't have any of those stores near me. There is a Goodwill truck that parks not far from where we live, though, and I've brought clothes there before. I don't think I've ever seen anyone bring a set of china though. I have a few things (clothes) I was going to bring to the truck this weekend, and I'll ask the attendant inside the truck, what items they accept.

IMO, some of your impressions are true. Yet, in spite of all the negatives we can find, we can also find more positives, but we need to want to see the positives. That's how it's always worked (for me anyway).
I agree, but, that is us. It is what we are used to and what we come to expect. When someone relocates in a new strange land to get away for whatever repression they were subject too, only to find that they are unwelcome here and they have invested everything in this transition, it is hard to find the positives. That is especially true when a person has never been exposed to many positives. Every once in awhile we have to put ourselves in someone elses shoes. We may see events completely differently that way.

Interesting and valid point made. I see what you're saying. Still, maybe it's just my personality, but I do tend to try and find the best in situations. Perhaps not everyone can.

There is nothing wrong with being the way you are. Heck, you even like cold weather and snow... so your credibility is pretty weak anyway. ;) You were given the option of finding something positive because you were in a place that was loaded with options and many of them were/are historically positive. That is not the case with everyone in the world. I suspect had you been raised in one of those locations, positive thinking would be hard to come by.

Well, it definitely would have been more difficult, I agree. Yet, as a side note only here, I've read (over the years) about some people who grew up in impoverished areas (such as slums in cities in the U.S.), and yet the human spirit won out. They went on to great achievements despite the odds stacked against them, so I think it often just comes down to the individual. Just my opinion. Yours is credible as well--just a different slant.

I really like the mint Aero bars and used to buy a couple when we went to the UK pavillion in Epcot, I hated the price though. When we went to London I brought back a bunch of them. After they were all gone hubby and I were sad and I had the bright idea to look on Amazon and the prices were so reasonable much better than the prices at Epcot. I checked out prices of other candy I enjoyed in London and the prices are reasonable.
pfff.. wait until you see the price of candy in the Harry Potter areas in Universal.. now thats insane...

Wow. Best wishes to your DD. Like I mentioned in my post, why on earth this type of bad news has to go down before the major holidays, is beyond my comprehension.

Although I'm not sure when other companies 4th yearly quarter ends, it was in October when I was a CM at the Disney Store.
Maybe it has somethin' to do with a lot of companies 4th quarter ending at the end of December, so they start the ball rolling this time of year, on those things, to coincide with that...?

Well, it involves me getting hired.. getting thrown into Vista Way on a room full of druggy hippies (8 of them in a tiny room) and then one of the top executives giving me the real "lock and key" of the kingdom. telling me that I need to close and open the doors of WDW every day... but they never gave me instructions of what hours what to do , the process..etc.. and turns out the executive left as WDW's was facing economical collapse.
That dream felt a lot like the hilarious and also enraging movie of Jim Carrey (Fun with **** and Jane) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fun_with_Dick_and_Jane_(2005_film).

Wow! Good night terror. You even got the keys to the Kingdom, some power.

I got a good giggle out of being thrown into Vista Way with druggies. Vista has a reputation that far exceeds reality. I've been at Vista a couple times and had absolutely no problems with my son living there or the people he lived with and hung out with. I've had a couple dozen of these 'Vista' kids in my home and stay with me from all over the country. Good people. Still the embellished Vista stories are so funny to read and hear sometimes.

I still loved Rory and Lorelai's banter by the pool, and how they got those kids to hold their parasols.:joyfull: And the Stars Hollow musical was painfully bad, but super hilarious. But it could have been shorter.

Also, earlier today, I read an article entitled, "Why Jess was the best boyfriend". My reaction...
57978735.jpg

Yeah, he treated Rory horribly, was disrespectful to Luke and Lorelai, and left without so much as a "Goodbye." And yeah, he did grow up, but he was NOT a good boyfriend when they were together. Logan could be a jerk too, and I hated what they did with his character in the revival, but he treated Rory MUCH better than Jess did. Even Dean, for all his faults, was a bBetter boyfriend. Do NOT understand the Jess hype.

Maybe tomorrow I'll get to part 4.

Jess = good looking-bad boy?

Logan = They cloned his womanizing behaviors after his Dad's. Like father like
son thing.

Dean = Best Boyfriend. Loved her. Biggest downfall, insecure and with reason
