All - I just want to take a moment to thank all of you very much for your support and friendship during this really crazy career transition that I'm going through right now.

Look, I'm aware that we don't technically "know" each other and this is just online stuff, but you guys have all been a great source of warmth as this has been going on.

I'm very glad to have gotten to "cyber" know you all, and thanks for urging me towards a Phil-less vacation, which I think I am going to book, within the next week. ;)

Okay, new plan:

We fly into LAX, take the Disneyland express shuttle from LAX to Disneyland. We spend five days in Disneyland, then we rent a car from the Dollar rental car place across the street from Disneyland, drive down to San ,Diego spend a few days in San Diego, and then fly out from San Diego. Solves the transportation issue.

I actually believe we do know each other. Not very different than phone or long distant relationships. Just different. As an example I've known @donaldtoo for about a decade. Just imagine how we've watched our children grow to adults, our jobs our family dynamics. Here too I've come to know a good core of friends that have been there when I needed a shoulder, we get support for our tech and just share some fun. We are a unique family here. I also look back at some of our family that is missing in the mist like @seahawk7 and wonder if all is well. For me that is the difficult part when someone in our little group *poof* is gone. Makes ya worry. I don't need a face to face to consider anyone a friend in life. Friends just pop in the most unusual places.

The bad news: my friend who I was going to ask to go to Disneyland with me can't go because she still hasn't found a new job unfortunately. So we'll have to plan a Disney trip for when she gets back on her feet financially.

The good news: the friend who I took to WDW said yes to Disneyland, so it looks like we are going to Disneyland!

But it has to be in January, which is when I go with my parents to WDW, so she'll fly back to Baltimore and I will fly from California to Orlando!!!

But I found out that we will have to fly into San Diego because LAX has no direct flight to Orlando, and it's January: I am not changing planes someplace. I'm lible to get stuck by myself in an unfamiliar city. The rates to fly into San Diego are about the same as flying into LA, so we'll do that and spend a few days in San Diego before heading up to Disneyland.

AND her parents have Marriot Rewards points, so they can cover the hotel in San Diego.

Nothing is set in stone yet, but it looks like this is going to happen...

I'm going to Disneyland. Again. :D
Good luck I hope it all works out!

Good for you! I think @MinnieM123 had a good point just go solo to Disney and share everything else. Good luck with the new job and happy planning.

Thank you, Buddy. We've all supported each other at one time or another here. (Sometimes, too, I think it's less stressful to share some of the highs and lows in life with people here -- who are not your immediate family, or not others you've known for years.) As I see it, sharing an issue with this group gives you a fresh, objective perspective, from all of our diversified backgrounds, skill sets, and life experiences. You're always welcome here.
