Well, what I read in the Unofficial guide is that they recommend doing that. Usually there are 2 main headliner rides, so you get a fast pass first thing for one and head straight for the other. That way you get those out of the way first thing in the morning. So like, get a fastpass for test track and head for Soarin. Your fastpass has a window of time, right? So you ride whichever one you DON'T have a fastpass for and you can still make your fastpass window. If you don't get a fastpass for ONE of them, by the time you get out of the other, the standby line for the one is longer already. That was my understanding anyway. Another reason they recommend that is that if you use all 3 of your fastpasses, you can get more if there are any left, but you can't schedule fastpasses within an hour of each other. So people will do 9, 10, and 11 and then they can go get one for a night show or parade later in the day. I was planning on getting a 9:00 for Soarin' and head straight for test track, but that was before they announced that Frostrom will be open then, so now I'll have to do a Frostrom for 9 and head straight for Soarin one day and test track the 2nd. And I haven't figured MK out yet. I'm reluctant to do splash too early in the day because if it's not a hot day and you get wet, you're going to freeze the whole day. But, it's a really popular attraction, so if you wait, the line will be insane. And I don't know if the kids have decided yet whether they want to do Space Mountain or not. But with BTMR, Splash, space, AND 7 dwarfs...where do you start???Good, you have a balanced perspective. Your trip will go smoothly for you, since you can go with the flow when necessary.
Here's something that baffled me when I was in WDW this week. Why do some people get a Fastpass reservation first thing in the morning for one of the most popular rides? I ask this because if you're there right at park opening, there's really no line yet. As I waltzed through stand-by queues, I saw people walking through the Fastpass lines at exactly the same rate of speed as the Stand-by lines.
I thought to myself, they just wasted their Fastpasses. Can't see the point of Fastpasses until at least 9:30 at the earliest, but that's just my opinion only. ("Maybe" the only exception here might the be 7 Dwarves Mine Train--but even then, maybe 9:15 at the earliest for Fastpass.)
Yeah, my thought was that we might want a day to not be running right after traveling. We'll be staying with my cousins in Denver on the 24th and leaving at 6:45 in the morning on the 25th...which means we'll have a long drive on the 24th to get to my cousins, a long travel day on the 25th...we're going to want some downtime, get used to the Eastern time zone, etc. So from the sounds of it, you don't much want to be at the water parks in the afternoon because it's so busy that you'll spend more time standing in lines than you do in the water. So I figure we go as soon as the waterpark opens, play until lunch and then hot-foot it out of there as soon as it starts to get crowded and either head to DS or to whichever restort we have a dinner reservation for. (I didn't do any in-park ADRs on our waterpark days so we don't HAVE to enter the parks on those days if we want to avoid the crowds. So we have a dinner at Whispering Canyon on one waterpark day, and a dinner at 'O hana the other waterpark day.) We can just explore the resorts that day. My other option, if we feel like it, is to split up the World Showcase and do a Pavillion or two in the afternoons before our ADRs on waterpark days. We'll just see what we feel like doing. I have several plans and we'll just go with whichever one feels right for that day. That's a perfect time to go to the water parks.
That is the touring I like to do. Go what feels right for the day. Daughter plans, and we go in and out of the plans, depending on the heat of the day! That's good for them and us. When we can't keep up, we stop in a resort and relax. Poly is my choice, with the Hawaiian music. I love Don Ho! Tiny bubbles!Yeah, my thought was that we might want a day to not be running right after traveling. That's really depressing, I remember those days. Gave me major sadness! Sympathy to you.Sending a "hug" to you. I felt the same once my plane landed back here. Vacation was OVER. What's worse, is tomorrow I have to go back to work.
I'm not a burger fan, but this is daughter's pick. Guess I will try the one with bar be que sauce and onion ring, if I don't like it. I'll just take it off. Good and done!Oddly enough, this was the first trip to WDW that I actually did not order a burger even once. I've often thought that their burgers taste they they boil them! That's why I've liked the toppings bars (bring back the hot cheese!!) because you can mask the taste of the burger!! (Actually, this trip is probably the first time I haven't gone to Cosmic Rays'--I love that place for the exquisite atmosphere! But, I just wasn't near it at any meal times.)
At my age, I understand that really well!I tried to simplify it by mentioning a fart.
I'm not giving ANYTHING up yet. If @figmentfan423 is right about the dining plan being accepted (which all the blogs say it will) and only one credit, then I'll keep the dining package anyway...it's worth more, and thus a better use of the dining plan credit. But I have several days where I can try for a fastpass, so I might try to book the fastpass for our 2nd AK night so we can see it again if we love it. If we don't care to see it again, then I can give the fastpass up afterwards. But for now, I'm keeping all the reservations I have until I know whether we've got fastpasses or not, and find out for sure about dining plan credits. I'm going to call them tomorrow. You will keep the dinning package until you get fastpass right?
I mean.. can you imagine if there are no fp and you end missing your last hurray for dinning package?
I will, I hope we get to see this.Sympathy like I'm so very sorry. At least you made it home in one piece.
That's beautiful. A great picture, of those beautiful flowers! Most of my pictures came out hideous as usual. This one isn't too bad. (I didn't go inside the attraction as this one I generally pass on, but I liked the flowers out in the front.) (Click on the small photo below to expand.)

Daughter has us landing going to the grocery. Then on to animal kingdom. Eat at Rainforest, and stay until the parks closes. I'm tired just thinking of this. We have to leave, according to hubby at 2:45 A.M. I better take a knock out pill for the plane.Yeah, my thought was that we might want a day to not be running right after traveling. Well, I'm the one doing all the planning on this one and I've done all the research and everything. But, that also means I get to kind of steer the rest of the family. They won't know what they are missing if I don't tell them! I can mention the things I want to see and get them excited about them and just not mention anything that doesn't sound like something we'd all like. That way there's no fighting because DS REALLY wants to do this and DD says no way. The only thing we may split up for is that DD can't stand Star Wars and DS LOVES it. So I may take DD somewhere else while the boys do Star Wars things. Everything else, I can kind of manipulate. If we don't have much time, we just won't mention certain things...like...Ellen's Energy thing...I'd like to see it, but it's not a "must see". So we'll see everything on the must see list and then if we have time, I'll mention that one and we can do it. But whatever I tell them about, they will want to do....So I have to be selective in how much I tell them so they don't feel like they are missing anything, but that we don't have to run ourselves ragged trying to do it all. That is the touring I like to do. Go what feels right for the day. Daughter plans, and we go in and out of the plans, depending on the heat of the day! That's good for them and us. Sympathy like. When do you arrive?? That sounds like a really long day to stay in the park till closing time if you are flying in the middle of the night. Then you are basically up for 24 hours without a rest!! Are you planning to escape for a nap?Daughter has us landing going to the grocery. Then on to animal kingdom. I can't speak for anyone else, but, at my age, I cannot trust a fart anymore. It's not always what it seems. At my age, I understand that really well!
