I can't believe I missed all these amazing pictures. Thanks so much for posting. We love wineries. (Can you imagine? ;) ) We are always going to Long Island Wine Country, and because I am inspired by your shots, here are a few of my own:
Fish and sips 1.jpg
Fish and Sips at Long Island Aquarium just outside of Wine Country - why am I holding two wine glasses? Ohhh, at this point, why do you ask? ;)

Phil wine day.JPG
Here is Phil the next day. It looks like he made a purchase!

Winery Phil.JPG
Look! Phil found another winery!

Buddy Washington.JPG
I think this is actually at some winery in Washington State.

Phil Mead.JPG
And so is this. Honey wine? Yes, it was as sweet as it sounds. And Pooh was not there.

Buddy Barrel.JPG
Also in Washington. I don't know how I climbed my stubby little legs up on that barrel, and someone needs to tell me not to wear horizontal stripes.

Buddy winery.JPG
I think I posted this one before - it's at Martha Clara Vineyard on Long Island - and on this very day, Phil got talked into joining a wine club.

Old Fielf Phil.JPG
Here is Phil at his favorite vineyard - the Old Field in the East End of Long Island, and after he finishes drinking, he's going to go bust a few ghosts.

Wine Cali.PNG
And one last one - here's me getting jiggy with it at a vineyard somewhere in California. Not Napa. Not Sonoma. It was like an hour from Disneyland. And lots of fun. ;)

Hahaaa...!!! Awesome pics!!! I love it...!!! :joyfull:
So many wineries here, and more popping up all the time. Our kiddos are the planners. So much fun, and not all that expensive! :)
Thanks, again...!

I read in some magazine that there are now wineries in every single state in the US. So, I looked up a few states where you would not think there would be wineries, and here are the amazing results:

Florida (where else would I start?) - 24 wineries?!?!?! Whhhhhaaaaaaattt?!? - http://www.tryfloridawine.com/florida-wineries-map.php

Alaska - looks like four - I'd love to taste this - probably very sweet - http://www.wineries-and-vineyards.com/alaska-winery-guide.html

Arizona - Wowe - they have a ton - unreal - https://www.arizonawine.org/winetrail.html

North Dakota - I would not imagine there to be one winery here, and yet - http://www.ndtourism.com/articles/north-dakota-beer-and-wine-trail

I could go on and on but you get the picture - punch in any state plus winery and you will get one or more hits for wineries. Which seems kind of amazing to me. And very cool.

Those pictures are gorgeous! And a five course meal with that view...sign me up! I don't know a whole lot about wine either, probably as much as you. I know if it tastes good or not. I just like to go to the winery to hang out with my friends. There was one lady that used to go with us to the winery but she was really pretentious about the wine, so we stopped inviting her. :cautious: I'm more of a beer connoisseur, I enjoy the different flavors in the brews. I don't get too worked up about it though.

Yeah, I'm more I like it or don't kinda gal. We were at a local restaurant by my Mom's and I ordered a glass of wine (need that with family gatherings) and my Sis took my glass, sniffed it, swirled it and tasted it, put it down kinda unimpressed. It was likely Beringers or Sutter Home given the type of place we were at. Me, the germaphobe isn't big on anyone drinking from my glass let alone stick'n their nose in it. :cautious:
I love my Sis dearly but we just live in two different worlds. I pay dearly for top Aisic running shoes, they make my feet that I am on most of the day feel better. My Sis pays $100 for a pair of designer flip flops. Different worlds. :cyclops: But she bought me my bike for my birthday and I am so excited to be able to ride it. Remember the picture? It is now at the bike shop where I bought my DD really nice bike years ago. They are putting 'the pre assembled' bike together. :banghead:

That looks amazing! :)

It really is a fun place, it also has a bed and breakfast attached. At times weddings are held there. It is in the far western suburbs of Chicago. The big 'ole home converted to a winery sits in a residential neighborhood near the commercial area. My guess is they got the zoning cause nobody could afford that big 'ole home with its guest house. It is an amazing piece of architecture.

Thank you for the pictures. Such a lovely place. The crab cake looks yummy! That's one kind of sea food I like.:hungry::happy:

I love seafood. Sadly nobody else does here. When I do get it that is usually at a restaurant. And when I am at a nice restaurant that I'd dare to eat the seafood I'm usually ordering steak as I am a carnivore at heart.

I was out with my Mom and ordered the surf and turf which was a ribeye and lobster. The steak was lovely and the lobster was about as long as my index finger. Never saw anything that tiny, 'bout 3 bites and gone. :(

Hope things warm up soon for y'all so you can enjoy some time there. It sounds wonderful...! :)
I forgot to mention in my response to @MinnieM123 that we have so many wineries here in Central Texas that they have tours. We've never taken one, but, have talked about it and probably will in the future. One company has these nice black vans the size of small motor homes. They do all the drivin', you do all the drinkin'...! :hungry: ;) :)

For the past week on the radio they are doing a tourism commercial to visit Austin-to visit a Tequila Distillery.

Gone are the days that I believed Texan's drank Bourbon. (I watched a lot of Dallas back in the day.)

why that small?
I mean.. was the price that low? or they just really were that greedy?

Right.. what she said. Surprised me as well. It just seemed impossible that K-mart (previously Kresge's, 5 and 10) would be able to buy out the mammoth Sears, Roebuck, Co., but, they did just that. Sears started the massive decline when they did away with their catalog, that was their lifeblood. It also would have transferred easily to online. Prime example of "can't fail" business's that fail.
My dh went into a Sears yesterday to take what may be one last walk around the tool department.:)
