BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

:hilarious:

I love Harry at Uni. I give them kudos, it was an awesome original build and has appealed to guests across so many age groups IMO better than the FLE has. The details and forced perspective remind me of what Cindy's Castle once was in that regard. I hope Disney creates such an awesome land with Star Wars and doesn't start chopping away at the plans to make up for lost dollars overseas.

I haven't found Fantasmic to have much room for general visitors since they added FP+ even an hour before the show. Crazy.
Yeah, Thats what annoyed me.. the first time we were there.. 60 to 80% of the theater, was pure dinner show. the rest standby and only in one of the corners.
Now seems to be 70% dinner package, 20% fp, and then 10% standby. from Scar to Hades, all dinning package.

first 5-6 rows in the center were dinner package only this January I went.
the other 3 rows were for FP and a small part of the last one was standby.
They had a huge amount of CMS ordering people compared to my first trip in 2013 (almost near October)
We always seated by the end of Scar and sorcerer mickey (very close to the CC tower)

Yeah, I think way back there was something in Vegas but Uni and the Studio's were being built at the same time in Orlando but they have been know to overlap some attractions like TMNTs have been in both parks. Maybe @Songbird76 is thinking of the Star Trek Adventure that was formerly at Uni and is threatening to return. Lots of Trekies out there too.
Wishing they could get TMNT to Uni again, I honestly do not see myself dragging to Nick's studios just for TMNT lol.

I'm kinda with the DH. I'd wait it out unless there is a bounce back special and you could cancel that. Still Cabana Bay is nice at the low end of the resorts being suites, gives ya a little more room and way cheaper than any suite at Disney World. I'm cautious as to what Corp is going to do given past history. The great stall out of both the FLE and The Wharf not long ago. It could be nasty like The Legendary Years for Pop Century too, look at how long that area laid stagnant mess. Or it could be just a few months of trying to right the quarterly earnings.
With Disney nothing is a given.
I must have caught Uni at peak, because cabana was pretty expensive compared to the Hilton.
I think it was 80 USD per day vs 300 USD
still cheaper than Disney's 300+ for single room or 600+ for suite.

We were near the very top with FP+ and an hour early. They were trying to squish more FP+ers in 30 minutes before and there was no where to squish them in. Guests including us were ignoring the CMs asking us to slide on down. We were on an end and offered to let the guests to walk past us but they could see there was nowhere for them to go, we were tight as it was.

Does Fantasmic have a section for hearing disabilities at all?

Christmas Holiday time anywhere is nasty expensive. It has been many many years since we did Christmas at WDW, just too crowded and my kids are out of school so not as necessary but even then POR almost doubled in price. When my DD was born it was $89 a night.

Uni not only does a seasonal price it also rewards you for the longer you stay the more the price drops similar to length of stay admission tickets.

SOMETIMES.
They have a block in the Scar line, top 4 lines are for disabilities.
They have reflective captioning in fantasmic.. but 2 out of 3 times I've been to fantasmic.. the system was down.
infact, this January was the worse.. not a single CC or assistive hearing system was working. The CMS gave offered to give me the "transcribed" stuff (aka a big plastic folder with the print of everything). Not amused, because you would be missing most of the show if you were reading a paper than using the reflective captioning.

I wonder if they are going to remove all CC systems. They could just use myMagic app to "sync" via wireless as well..
This could easily be implemented in ALL SHOWS and theaters... if theres wifi and the "signaling" system to the old CC systems, why not for cell phone? everyone has these nowadays! and the older CC systems were bulky as hell.

Ps. In case you dont know, the reflective captioning is simply a big LED panel on your back that translates CC style wordings.. in bright blue.
The "reflective" system is just a simple polarized glass in a flexible pole.
So you can see easily the show, while the text is reflected in the glass.

I noticed that.
technically wise, we rented DVC points for Disney, so it wasn't THAT expensive (considering how big the apartment was.. We were going to be more, but a lot of people bailed).
and the Hilton was super cheap even during these days.

Still, was funny to see the Uni parks feeling "empty" compared to the Disney ones. All the people, of course... were INSIDE the attractions.
The concentrated bulk of people were on specified zones...like in Diagon Alley,Hogsmeade and Marvel areas.
Which were all packed (very strong contrast).
It seems Disney balanced the "weight" of the visitors better than UNI.
