This is one of my peeves too. I can't stand being late, I don't like when I arrive somewhere late and everyone looks at me or is disappointed/frustrated.

All my friends know that I'm usually about 5 minutes early, and one time I was going to a friends house and I was about a mile away when my phone rang. It was my friend, it was about a minute before I was supposed to be at her house and she was calling to see if I was okay since I wasn't at her house yet!

Also one time in college I was about 5 minutes (or less) late for a class and I didn't want the prof to say anything about me being late (I don't know why I was worried, he never took attendance) or have people see me walk in late. So I just sat outside and listened to the lecture. (I'm strange, I know.)

Not strange. I am the same way. I would almost rather not show up than show up late. I hate the thought of disrupting everything.

Poor Walt is lonely maybe he just needs a little playmate:D

While we would love a playmate, Walt not so much, I don't think he'd be jealous more betrayed. He seems to believe all humans are on Earth just for him. He is indifferent to other Pups. He has his favorite humans, my Son the Man across the street, the guy around the corner and my Mom. The rest of us are useful unless one of them comes around. Me, I am his Alpha. He listens to me, I walk him, feed him and take care of him, he knows that but he is fickle and for the most part he picks out a handful of guys he likes the most.

I understand that. My sister made up words to the Teddy Bear Picnic song. She knew I loved my Favorite Teddy, so she sang when parents weren't around, how someone was going to steal my Teddy Bear. She made me cry every time she sang it. I hate that song to this day. And I don't like orange or brown either!;)

And how did you wind up feeling about the sister that tortured you?

Is he getting advanced in age. Our dog Freddie started going out many times at night. He ended up having urerter cancer. If he starts going out more, you might want to check it out. It could be old age....just like us humans.

Walt will be 10 in just a couple weeks. He is having problems these days jumping and crawling up on the bed. He has ramp to my SUV now. I think after last night I figured it out, maybe. He leaves the bed but eventually wants back up. He is unsure of himself so I always stand by the bed when he is leaping up. I think I was taking it as he wanted out and instead wanted to get up. That solved it last night.

An interesting thing at the Disney store: they offer to sell you a reusable bag for 75 cents as they no longer provide disposable ones. Not sure if it's a city thing, though, since they banned plastic bags recently.

Tried to like this post, but, the site wouldn't let me...again. Had log out and back in just for it to let me reply, 'cause it wouldn't let me do that either 'til I did.

Anyway, the City of Austin has had a plastic bag ban (other than thicker reusable ones you can purchase for $0.25 a pop from a lot of stores) for several years.
We used to sell lots of themed, heavier duty, reusable bags when I worked at The Disney Store, but, the mall is also located just outside of the city limits, so we had plenty of regular plastic bags on hand, as well.
And, they were definitely way thicker than your average grocery store type plastic bag. :)

I never thought to use canned beans. I've only used frozen beans (in the green bean casserole) and generally get a good price on either the boxes or bags of them at the supermarket. I tend to forget about canned veggies; I think the only canned veggies I ever buy are regular beans (for chili), or sometimes, chickpeas for salads, in the summertime.

We've only ever used canned beans for the casserole. :)

Here's something funny. My father never cooked anything in the kitchen; only my mother cooked. However, my non-cooking father would "magically" transform into a cook every summer--only he cooked on the outdoor grill for the family. I could never understand how he could not as much as boil water in the kitchen, but could cook steaks, fish, ribs, burgers, corn and other things on the outdoor grill in the summer??!! :D

That's very interesting, and I'm happy to say I'll never have one! :p Think I'll just stick with the Mission brand; I figure they have enough massas in their factory, so that I don't need to go out and buy one. ;)

Actually, I'm all "cooked out" from the past 4 days--pumpkin bread, cranberry chutney, and a few turkey (legs) dinner with veggies for hubby and me. Yesterday, I heated up the leftovers.

Enough is enough. I'm DONE in the kitchen for some time now! :hilarious: :D

Our "Minnie Homemaker"...! :D ;) :)

I hate being late too, but I always have at least a 15 minute commute everywhere I go, usually more like 20-30 minutes, so I've given up on being early or on time all the time. I sit myself in a location that has an easy entrance/exit in case I need to excuse myself for my asthma, so if I come in late, I'm not crawling over people to try to get out. The only class I make sure I'm on time for is Spanish, but that's in the middle of the afternoon; I have no excuse. I usually get there 20-30 minutes early, which is annoying but necessary.
