Actually, love languages apply to spouses/mates, not parents/children: http://www.5lovelanguages.com

My parents were similar to yours in that they raised me and my siblings the best way they knew how, which wasn't the ideal way, but definitely demonstrated love on some level. We can only improve upon our parents' way of raising us, right?
I'll have to look at it later. I have to go get the kids for lunch break in a few mins.

I did the profile and looked at the FAQs and it says it's for children and parents, too. There's even a separate profile quiz for children to do. I want to do it with my kids. I think my daughter is a time person, but she's also very physical...she loves to snuggle up and watch a movie with me. I'm not sure with my son. He's definitely NOT physical. I think he's more of a words kid, but he might also be quality time. Fascinating stuff. Thank you for the link!

OK gang, I'm about 11 days and 100 pages behind...
That kinda' ketchup just ain't gonna' happen. :cyclops:
So, I'm just gonna' jump in right here, and only go back a few pages, maybe.
Hope you're all well...! :)
I am in the same boat, @donaldtoo . I can't handle all of that "ketchup", either, so I just jumped in. I guess I hope to figure it out as I go along.

That's a bummer! Is it because they think it's too much trouble to regulate?
Sorry to answer so late (it's been crazy in my house) but it's all PC to me. Can't offend anyone. No Halloween but harvest party. No Christmas but winter festival. No Easter but spring fling. The only holidays our schools recognize is Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Memorial Day and those type.

Now it's up to each teacher if they want to decorate their classroom with ANY holiday and if any parents want to send in holiday treats that's okay. I sent in for my daughter's class Halloween goodie bags with candy, stickers, and plastic bug toys in them.

I'm particularly annoyed at the ridiculous standards set by spongebob.

Thank you for this. I shared it on FB and everyone had a good chuckle.

My husband's firm closed financially at the end of Dec. so no one was allowed Christmas Vacation. My family always really had fun at Christmas, I missed all those celebrations, except my Mom and Dad's 50 anniversary. It's been a while but, I still have ill feelings toward his workplace, this requirement to stay at work was up until the last few years, and my family Mom and Dad were gone when they gave in to Dec vacations. I know it's water under the bridge, but I don't feel good about it. Fast forward, we made the best of it. We went out driving around to look at Christmas lights, went to Candlelight church services, and slept in late on Christmas. My DD was always a late sleeper, even Santa couldn't get her or hubby up. Gave me time to fix a nice big brunch. All things work out in the end!:joyfull:

I also don't get Christmas vacation, other than the 25th, which is a stat holiday and Jan 1.

If you're just doing 3 days, keep in mind all the extra time you spend traveling--even just up to Uni. Maybe you and your hubby might be more relaxed if you spent all your time at WDW, and just chilled out and enjoyed the pretty decorations. I've never been there in the Christmas season, but the pictures I've seen are gorgeous.
It is a beautiful time to go. I love the gingerbread house display in the GF.
