Pictures for today. I'm tired....so there will be little commentary. Observations so far, everywhere is super busy. Food has continued to decline in value , taste and quality. The only meal that I've enjoyed is breakfast, a plain egg sandwich that I made, and our meal at Rain Forest. A simple chicken and onion quesadilla . People are doing crazy things, we have seen so many little kids unattended to, these are kids 3 or 4. Parent's are getting distracted on their cell phones. We've seen numerous kids just run away and the parents didn't notice. Hubby watched out for a little boy about 4 come into the men's bathroom alone, do his business and leave. I'm glad it was just him and the 4 year old. He followed the little guy out, and saw his Mom retrieve him. Like it was no big thing. What am I missing here? That's just one of so many examples. Then we were in line to get something at Food and Wine this mother had a very young baby about a month old, it was hot and in the sun. We were in that line 1 1/2 hours, the baby was crying and crying. I felt so bad for the baby. Then the Mother who was wearing a tube top, just pulled it down to nurse the baby, who was having none of that, and continued to cry. She exposed herself to all in line, guys behind us, teenagers were snickering. People were very uncomfortable. Just so the mother could get a drink and snack for herself. Now, I'm not a prude but that seemed inappropriate, as there were many 10 and 12 year olds in line too. Now onto our pictures of the day.

Here's hoping you don't have any group projects! Or if you do you get better group members!

Yep, sometimes those other benefits do outweigh other things but we all like time off. I think we are likely one of the few remaining families that still receives health insurance without any employee contribution. Sadly the deductible has hit that ouch level.

My company has individual insurance with no deductible but they suck with everything else.

That is very neat. I imagine 66 would have been something to see in its heyday.
Yea, the TV program did make it seem like it should be a bucket list destination, but, most of it just ran through some pretty barren land. An old two lane highway that ran through every small town that existed. Romanticized and certainly worthy of curiosity, but, I would think it would probably be pretty disappointing at this point. That's just my opinion because honestly the only part of Route 66 that I have ever seen is that one that ran through the base. That area was not overly impressive.

That was an excellent compromise. I was just watching the local news and one school district was under pressure to ban a traditional Halloween parade (where all the kids would get dressed up in costumes), because of a number of families with various kinds of religious or other beliefs against Halloween. The parents who want to keep the Halloween parade are fighting back. Should be interesting to see how all this pans out. As I've said before here recently, sheesh, I'm glad I'm not a kid now . . .

Oh for Pete sake then let your kid dress up as a Daisy then. Some folks just need to stop it.

What I am watching closely is the case of IX gender discrimination for locker room use. The transgender individual who is currently living as a female and wants full access to the girls locker room. The compromise was to give restricted changing areas in the girls locker room and bathroom out of respect for the females that were not comfortable changing in front of and being with the individual as changing occurred. My mind immediately went to my DD swimteam and how there was no time for modesty if ya ripped a swim suit and getting back up on the block. This is a school district in N. IL NW suburbs, it decision is going to impact our district as a school board member I'm dreading it. I'm going to get yelled at by parents while walking Walt and shopping at the Target. My gut is IX gender the individual rights will trump those of privacy expectations of the other female students. This could trickle down to our Primary, Elementary and Middle School-which has 2 locker rooms in a school built in 1939.

Well in the world according to Gabe my prediction is all places with restrooms, locker rooms along with fitting rooms, dorms are going to be co-ed eventually and sooner in many cases. While giving access to some schools will also need to look at the solutions for privacy for others and their religious limitations. I think facilities will be similar to fitting rooms at Target, very tall and dividers and doors down to the floor. Family Room/Changing rooms are like this at many park districts, not for the Transgender accommodations but for the creeps that were putting cameras under the stalls children were using.

While for new builds this would work, far more expensive to build but hey what isn't. Plumbing reworks OMG expensive. Me, I think of our 1939 school and I look at our budget and think oh my. And the other 2 schools it is going to be wildly expensive. So I am watching this with heightened interest with anticipation of complying likely in the not so distant future. So the next time you see a school board member that just made cuts to band, sports or speech club try to remember they 1st have to comply with new mandates and fund those mandates. Be kind. I'm old enough to remember adding female locker rooms in high schools that were equivalent to what was provided to the boys under title IX gender mandates. Too bad back in 1972 my predecessors didn't just toss all the students in one giant locker room and be done with it. ;) It is depressing when you evaluate solutions and there isn't an easy solution for everyone that is impacted and yet still have empathy for all the students. Its hard.:bawling::arghh::cry::cyclops:

As I said the deductible is very high. I'd have to think this will backfire in the long run for insurance companies. Put someone on blood pressure meds quickly and they might not be paying out for many who will needlessly have heart attacks and strokes. That PennyWise thing.
