The Chit Chat Chit Chat Thread

Went to a wedding last night. Chatted with one of the guests about his first trip to Disney with his two children. He proceeded to tell me that they got these "things for their wrists" and all he had to to was wave it to buy all their meals, or any souvenirs, etc. It was so easy, he said. ;) (I remained mum about my own thoughts about the Magic Bands, and politely listened to this first-timer.)

Then he tells me that he got his bill (for just under a week) and just the meals only, for the 3 of them, came to $1,300! He said they had a few nice, sit-down meals, but doesn't recall ordering anything fancy. (He was the perfect guest for Disney; totally immersed himself in the bubble, and completely lost track of what he was spending.)

I told him that I was glad he had a nice trip with the children; and gently suggested that next time, he pay more attention to the meal prices, and create a budget for himself ahead of the trip. (I also shared that I pay all my meals in cash (cash card) that I had pre-loaded with a specific amount, prior to my trip, and kept a running tally each day to stay within budget.) I also mentioned that if he watched the ads on a regular basis, he might luck out and get free dining travel dates.

Yep, the further removed you are physically from the paper and coin versions of your hard-earned cash money, the further you are also removed from it emotionally. All research shows this.
And, all those that want our money have known this since checks/cheques were first used.
Now, it's progressing from credit cards with cute little pics or whatever on 'em, to colorful, Magical, bands that bring a smile to peoples faces as they wave their bucks away...!!! :joyfull:

I thought you might enjoy the Spanish subtitles in the video, because sometimes they almost need English subtitles for us Americans...!!! :joyfull: ;)
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
they are definitively welcome.
Interestingly. they talk slow enough for me to understand perfectly fine.

I have a hard time when people talk too fast.
Sure. If ya' wanna' look at the glass as half empty. ;) :)

Also, we had the Thanksgiving leftovers tonight. All is well; I got my fake mashed potatoes

Evidently, my brother also prefers the fake ones. We have leftover real ones, and he opted for the fake. Sometimes I wonder if that kid and I are actually related, and sometimes, there's no doubt...
Are you sure he isnt your osmosis twin?

Alrighty, DWifey is still sound asleep, and I still have it on the Hallmark Channel...
I, obviously, need to seek some sort of exorcism first thing in the morning, provided, I.....
SURVIVE THE NIIIIIIIGHT!!!!!!! :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

:D ;) :)

The sweetest of Disney dreams to one and all...!!!
G'niiiiiiiiight..!!!!! :)
You can always try to bless your beer and then throw it slowly to the target of exorcism as you drink from the mug. :hilarious:

But . . . but . . . 3 bathing suits are better than 2, because now she has three different styles to choose from! Woo hoo!:happy::happy: It's like shoes and handbags: women can never have enough. Why don't men understand this simple concept, that's second nature to all women? o_O

Reminds me of a conversation, years ago, that my father had with his aunt. (I was only a kid at the time, but I recall this discussion, like it was yesterday.) Aunt: "I spent over $100, but I found this gorgeous, designer cocktail dress, and it marked down to $50." Father: "Wat a moment . . . if you found the dress for $50, how did you manage to spend over $100?" Aunt: "Well, of course . . . (she rolls eyes: ), if you have a new dress, you need new shoes. And if you have new shoes, well, of course, you need a new handbag. And if you go to all that effort, of course, you need a new bottle of perfume to complete the ensemble." :joyfull: :joyfull:

I'll never forget my father's speechless, dumbfounded look on his face. To me, it all made perfect sense.

I didn't do any Black Friday shopping, but hubby did. I might have gone but I had a terrible cold (thanks to hubby). So I did give him a mission to get one thing while shopping, a Mickey toaster for $15. We haven't used it yet but I'm pretty excited about it!

Again, glad you liked the videos. :)
There is so much hilarious, old, Monty Python stuff out there that I haven't watched in years. I really need to revisit it.

There are lots of images and videos of Space Mountain, on the internet, with the lights on, if you haven't seen them, yet. :)
