When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
My step-daughter now has her learner's permit. It has been the most terrifying summer of my life. I cannot wait for school to start in two weeks so I do not have to think of new and creative ideas on why we should spend the day at home or trying to convince the kids that walking everywhere in 90-degree heat is a good thing.
My son got his G-2 (between Learner's Permit and "Real" Licence) on a Tuesday ... bought a 1991 8-cyl Trans Am on the Thursday.

The bonus to taking him to Disney for 11 days is that I don't have to worry about him driving. Instead, I can worry about my 20 year old son using MY car for those 11 days.

I feel your pain.

I'm making tea. You make some kind of icing. And you and I will have ourselves a nice snack after everyone here goes to bed.

Look at it this way: she'll learn to drive, and then you have her run errands. My mom says this is still the best part about me driving. That, and taking my brother places so we're both out of her hair.
