Today is a good Monday for me. Nice and quiet, except my dh called and asked do we have anything planned this weekend as he was asked to work Saturday.:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: The whole reason for yesterday's shopping spree was so he wouldn't have to worry about other plans on the weekends :banghead::banghead::banghead: MEN:arghh::bawling::banghead:
Good morning @figmentfan423. Did you get a lot of good things on the shopping spree? I'm behind now, and need to read what went on over the week-end.

Good morning all! Yesterday was a success. I have all birthdays between now and Christmas covered and a few oops I forgot whatever gifts for the closet. My pantry is also fully stocked! Seeing the boys will be back tomorrow, I may need to restock Thursday! Oh well best laid plans and all that! My dh didn't find sandals so that may have to wait for spring, I'm not sure one more thing would have fit in the car with all the pantry supplies:confused: Have a magical day!
Good morning @betty rose we sure did

Oy. I'm sorry about the thumb. Stop tugging on it though silly woman.

The studios for some reason flood badly with big storms, caught there too many times when the streets turn to rivers, more so than other parks during storms. As for Dad, I saw that with my own Dad who is really an intelligent man, I figure he messes stuff up so nobody would 'ask' him to do it. He really wan't that inept.
Yes, I have stopped. Just wanted to see if I could still do it as a barometer for whether or not it has been healing.

We hadn't even gotten into the park. It was pouring down rain and we were stuck near the bus station. I had flip flops on, but no one else could move without having soaked feet. Thanks to the ankles, I usually wear sneakers, but decided on flip flops since we were only going in for a few hours. So glad I had flip flops on. I wasn't nearly as miserable as everyone else.

As far as Dad goes, I don't think he's faking it to get out of it. He used to forget that I was allergic to peanuts. So it makes sense he can't remember an order. Or that Mom doesn't like cheese on her salad. You can't tell my dad, "Oh, just get me something I like." It's one way to get yourself something you DON'T like. Better for me to go with him and make sure he does it right.

Wow, you have a great jump on the upcoming holiday season! I wish I were in you're shoes! I hope your day is going great! School started today for the Grandkids, :(. Oldest starts middle school. I hope he makes some friends early in the year. Many kids come from different schools. It's like a new beginning for him.

Good morning all. We had a nice time in the mountains, celebrating husbands birthday. He is now 67, same as me. We stayed at a casino hotel, the Ameristar. It's was a really nice hotel. Had great food, and a great location. I forgot my camera, so I didn't get any pictures. We had perfect temp, high 72 and low around 52. Bright and sunny!:joyfull:

I feel your pain, my baby started MS last year and the first few days were rough with none of his friends in any of his classes. By the second week he was loving it. He'll be fine! Not only did I get a jump on the holidays we got a jump on trip shopping! Poncho, umbrellas, water bottles and toiletries (sale and coupon combos)

@figmentfan423 , I hope you have a nice day. :)

I'm logging off now and heading out to work. I've had a few script glitchesthere this morning (I put in the help area thread, as the mods asked us to do that with any problems). The script freezing up my computer thing made me lose a good 20 minutes messing around with this crazy thing this morning. :(
I've had the same problem. It's taking me a lot longer to post anything.:(

I love your organization. It seems, the holidays are where I fall short, time wise.

Poured for about 40 minutes straight at DHS today. Because of the rain, we weren't able to do a lot. Thank goodness for DAs or my brother would have had a conniption. We are going again Tuesday. We weren't planning on it, but we're switching resorts and were planning on doing Epcot, but went there yesterday and did not plan for that, so we'll do DHS for the day then and go to Epcot for dinner.

Hand has been unbelievably sore the past few days. I have another appointment the Wednesday we get back, so I will ask the doctor about an MRI. He says the ligament is partially torn, But could still require surgery. The fact that if I tug it, it comes out of the socket, worries me. Not that I'm tugging on it a lot, but I tried gently tugging it yesterday, and it came out a bit.

It is amazing how much I have to think about my thumb. It also takes me longer to do a lot of stiff, including getting dressed, washing my hands, etc. I can't get lunch by the pool for my entire family like I used to. I simply can't carry the food plus three refillable mugs My dad goes with me and helps. No one trusts him to go on his own and get the order right. I guess we'll have to alternate between me and my dad getting food and my mom getting it.
Sorry to hear about your slow healing hand, I hope you can avoid surgery. If not, I will be thinking of you in the coming weeks. I'm glad you are at Disney, a great place to get away from pain, even if only for a few seconds.

So these were different. You take rice flour and mix it with water and a little sugar. You them steam the mixture but I boiled it because I didn't have a steamer. I really think the gal who gave me the recipe meant for me to boil it. All the youtube videos I saw didn't use this recipe.
So I boiled the mixture until it thickened. I then put it in a glass Pyrex dish and chilled for over two hours.
Then you cut strips and dip them in egg with a little sugar and fry.
Mine weren't as good as hers and towards the end I cut up mushroom, jalapeños and added to before I dipped in egg and fried.
My son tried them with syrup but that was way too sweet. He thought they were like pancakes.
I think I need to tweak the recipe which was very vague. I might need to invest in a steamer. But I do want to try putting chives or scallions in the mixture.
I also wasn't able to get the name brand of rice flour she used. That might make a difference.
I agree about commercial rice cakes, they taste like nothing to me, and very dry. IMHO
