@ajrwdwgirl , more amazing pictures!!! I don't think you're a school teacher. Secret's out -- you're a professional photographer!!! ;)

All of your pictures tell a story. You have a good eye for what is truly unique. Aside of the splendid historical locations you visited, I have to say I was quite interested in the pub pictures and the pub food. I think what surprised me about the food in particular, was just how nicely it was plated -- in a pub . . . (Years ago, I worked for a hotel company, so I have an appreciation for "details" in food and beverage, etc.) I love pub atmosphere, and I rarely drink, but enjoyed going to them for the food. (That was back when I visited Ireland.) The pubs were friendly and laid back, and many entire families would go there. They were social gathering places in the cities, towns and villages.

Thanks for the nice words about my pictures. I was surprised at how good the pub food was too, and it was nice presented. I just like the feeling of being in those pubs, it is so cozy and many are historical. Next time I go to Epcot I might have to spend a little time inside the Rose and Crown, I have eaten there but always on the patio so I will have to request inside to enjoy the atmosphere.

Yorkshire pudding seems interesting. Totally doesn't live up to it's name. Then again neither does bread pudding. I love bread pudding, never had yorkshire. I remember one day on the Food Network, the Brits have a dish called Bubble and Squeak.

Trip of the Year award is below

th

Is the award for me? Thanks!

The bangers (sausages) and mash at the Rose and Crown in Epcot are served with bubble and squeak. I guess it is something with cabbage and since I don't like cabbage I get it without. I never saw bubble and squeak on a menu in London although I guess I wasn't really looking.

You know, I'm surprised you havent tried to order a fillet Wellington.

Also.. I just googled about the rosetta stone.. fascinating stuff!

I think I saw some fillet Wellington on the menu but it has mushrooms in it and I don't like them, otherwise beef and pastry I'd be in.

I would have like to have looked at the Rosetta Stone more but it was just mobbed with people. It is interesting how they could use it to decipher hieroglyphs.

The three of us all have Celtic names that don't sound like how they're spelled so you think HE would remember.
I was announcing a horse show and one of the rider's name was Niamh. I had no clue how to pronounce it,so I asked her and it is a Celtic name pronounced neave. It means radiance. I'm glad I asked because I would have really messed it up! :)

Bubble and squeak's main ingredients are potatoes and brussel sprouts with whatever leftover vegetables are on hand.

What is the taken series, I don't watch much TV , I do like the various cooking channels, and love the history channel. What channel is this on? I did see a new Ancient Aliens is coming on soon. On the history channel. Is Taken on the history channel? Or fiction? I don't watch much fiction. I think the world is interesting enough to watch all the history we were taught, and not taught. I'm not worried about the military.....I didn't tell them that I saw anything. Again I was too scared. That was over 15 years ago. But, it did make an impression. Someone else was on the nightly news reporting what he saw, he was made out to be a nutcase. I have no interest in publicity, or worse...
It was a limited series made by Steven Spielberg.
They are like.. extended miniseries. Each episode is 1 hour and 20 minutes.
It starts from a World war II encounter, and ends with a nice finale 3 generations after the first contact.

the series are named "TAKEN".
I think you can watch them on netflix and many other streaming systems.
It is science ficcion at its finest. but based on many cases of abductions, experimentation, military involvement..etc..
You see both versions, of the victims (abductees), their families, and the organizations that are trying to counter the aliens (Secret group ala men in black, and then the full fledged military)

But, I also rule nothing out, as the Bible talked about "angels", and "demons" interacting with humans. I'm not God , so I don't know, but I have faith that all will be understood in the end.
Well, it depends on your point of view.
The Aztecs believed the Conquistadores were Gods.
The shock and culture difference can get that too.
Now imagine the shock.... IF.... most "GODS" were actually aliens visiting.. and the "Demons" were actually conquering aliens.
Its all a matter of the POV.

You know, after seeing the pub food and how tasty it looked, the gordon ramsay shows.. and other things...
I still have no idea why theres this stereotype of "British People have the worst food" still going around.

I Mean, Its not like they eat Fish and Chips 24/7!
Its almost as bad as blasting americans because "they only eat McDonalds 24/7".

That's what we had today too. There was also an excellent breeze, it was wonderful out in the hammock today with the pup.

We were to get to 95 today with the highest dew point making the feel like 110. And yes I am going to actually say this, thanks for the mega storm 'cause it knocked down the the temps and the feel like. It wasn't the heat it was that dew point that was making the air feel solid. Suppose to be hot again tomorrow. Summers here! :inlove:

I understand that! :D There's been plenty of times I've spelled our names and people look at me like I'm crazy. :joyfull: The same for people who have to read our names out loud. I had a nurse at our medcenter just spell it.
