Oh, that's surprising (not the part about you being a cheap date :hilarious:) but that the AAA parking was a hike to the gates. I thought the whole point of the AAA Diamond parking was to offer up front parking. From what you said, it doesn't really sound all that convenient. And I agree that the the little trams are really fun to ride. I recall my first trip back in 1985 with my mother, and on our last day of vacation, it was one more "ride" that we could enjoy, when we had to return to our rental car!

We don't have a car much at WDW but we did a driving trip there in 2011 so we drove to the MK one morning. We were there really early (as we tend to do) and had AAA parking. I was excited that we would have close up parking, we got to the AAA area and noticed it was far away from the Transportation and Ticket Center and there were still close regular spots open so we drove around some cones and the wrong way up an aisle to get a close spot. But the AAA diamond parking was pretty close to the entrance at Epcot, at least in 2005 it was. I wouldn't mind taking the trams, as I haven't done so since I was a kid but we are always super early to the parking lot and it is quicker to just walk. Maybe we shouldn't be such early birds!

I've never been on a cruise, but it's encouraing to hear that there are good options for everyone. I really enjoyed @MOXOMUMD 's cruise TR this year, and she didn't go on a Disney cruise.

As for the Disney cruise lines, I've also heard nothing but excellent reviews; and as you said, it just comes down to personal preference. :)

I loved the Disney cruise we took last year, and they would be my first choice when cruising but I was looking into a Disney cruise to Alaska for next summer the prices are just outrageous (to my budget anyway), especially if we want a verandah. I looked at Norwegian's Alaska cruise prices and could take a longer Alaska cruise with a verandah for the same price as the Disney, or choose one the same length as the Disney one with a verandah and it was half the price of a Disney one. So if we do Alaska, I don't think we will cruise Disney. Maybe this is the same for other destinations I only compared Alaska prices.

Our first cruise was on Norwegian, we loved it. I'm happy, no matter what boat I'm on....I like the water. :D
