Ya' know, I had heard so many horror stories that I thought the whole process would be a lot worse than it actually was. People are so full of BS (granted, I understand experiences may vary). I had the first one about 7 years ago (due for another one soon 'cause my grandfather died from colon cancer), and it was no big deal. Don't get me wrong, the whole bein' flushed 'till you're shrunk thing was not exactly fun, but, it wasn't that bad.
Then, when I had the actual procedure done, it got even sillier...!
They gave me the anesthetic, and I wasn't goin' out quite like they had expected I would. The Dr. looked at the nurse, and I heard her say to him in a muffled voice "I gave him the whole dose."
At that point, the good Dr. said "Well, since your awake, I might as well walk you through what I'm doing." He turned his monitor to where I could see the scope pics and he explained the whole thing to me as I was watchin' my colon on the big screen...!!! :joyfull:
After it was over he said "Well, you're as clean as a whistle. Any questions." Me "Nope." Him "Well, then I'll see ya' in 10 years." :hilarious: :)
I have had three! The first one found a polyp, so I had to go back in 3 years. None on the second so it went to five years. That time there were 10, so it's back to 3 years again. The only time I get upset with the pre-work is trying to drink that much liquid in such a short time and also the no solid foods part of it. That gets especially bad if they don't do the procedure until mid-afternoon. That's pure torture. I have never dozed off during my exam and have always watched it on the screen. That part, including the polyp removal, is fascinating to me. Otherwise I don't find it all that uncomfortable, just something that I prefer not to do on a regular basis.
However, I did get a bonus of full color photos of my colon to take home with me and, I assume, include in my family photo's. I am having a hard time deciding which one to use for this years Christmas card. There all so cute, and such a personal touch I think.

At the waterpark my DD manages they carry this around from guardstand to guardstand. They order it buy the gallons.

And since she became the germaphobic that I am she always bulk purchases hand sanitizers. She has them in the managers office, admission center and the lifeguard rooms. She enjoys the fact that most employees over 2 years now automatically pass a jug of sanitizer and use it. Hundreds of new germaphobics.

DD is germaphobic too. We never carried sanitizer when in Disney, in the early days. Now, we don't leave the room without purell in our pockets. You can add three more to the list, Gabe.:D

I come from a newspaper family. My dad started working at ours when he was 16 and by 21 was the head pressman. Worked there for 45 years until he actually had a heart attack during the morning print one day and he had to retire. When I met my ex he was looking for a better job so my dad hired him and with my dad's retirement my ex took his place. I can remember many years of my childhood hiding all over the pressroom, going over the conveyor belt and climbing the giant rolls of paper. :)
I ran a printing an publishing company for close to 14 years back in the 70's and 80's. We printed our own shopping newspaper and did many other local web printing jobs for the area stretching from Vermont to Maine. So I spent a lot of time with those big rolls of paper. One of my girls recently told me that every time they pick up a paper now, the ink smell hits them and they remember back to when I used to come home smelling like an ink.
On bad days, I used to hide behind those giant rolls of paper.

I know I should go directly to pick up my check, but I have the whole day and I just had to walk over to the Jerusalem light rail suspension bridge and take photos for you all...

Sympathy like. Good luck with the next one.

I stopped watching after Real World and Road Rules started going downhill. I would get so mad at everyone on those shows, it was bad for my blood pressure.
Well, at least they did show the epitome of most dumbest people on TV after JACK AS S.

I mean, it was surreal what these guys did sometimes.

and I only caught 2-3 episodes because my brother used to hogg the TV.

The cucumbers that are grown in the greenhouse at The Land are incredibly good and flavorful. :hungry:
The code for the images seems wrong, it shouldn't be http:// and then the attach code.

Did you upload the file directly using the website?
or did you try to add an image via the image link tool? (the first is in the bottom of the screen that says UPLOAD A FILE, the second is in the top, next to the smiles icon)

Everything is so amazing.
It's even better in person!

I decided to walk to the Hebrew University on Mount Scopus. Last time I was in Israel, I stayed at a dorm here. So, I decided to see how much the campus has changed since I was last there. It's pretty much how I remembered it, with some new building additions, of course. So, right now, I'm relaxing on a couch in one of the new buildings, with nice AC and my phone being charged at the same time. This building has a huge window overlooking the slope of the mountain. I'll take some pics of the room I'm in, the window, and the view and post it in a few...
