Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR
Well my trip was kinda fun. My Mom was not pleased with anything so that was hard, didn't like hotel, didn't like my Sis's meal choices, didn't like the Club we stayed at, didn't like any of the places my Sis took us too so that was hard. She is 80 but geesh.

Funny. My Mom and I met at the airport and she rolled up with her carry on luggage. Luggage 3x the size of any carry on easily. The lady behind the counter watched me checking in her luggage at the kiosk and then checked my Mom in and as a bonus she also checked me in as TSA pre-approved as my Mom was 80. Nice not playing with shoes, pulling out a quart bag of liquids or pulling out electronics.

Luckily the weather was great and my Sis and I had fun despite grumpy Mom. My Sis lives across the street from a massive park and it was filled with Pups. Made me miss Walt.

We BBQ'd one night at my Sis's with food from the Market. That place was amazing. Wish something similar was around here.

I'm trying to figure out what the November event is for men. Did I miss something in a previous post?

Movember - men grow a moustache, get sponsors, and raise money for men's cancer research.
Where my dh works they did beard and stashes! I think they were just being lazy:confused: The wives finally gave them money to shave on Thanksgiving!:D

More great pix, @betty rose ! Sorry your veggie burger was overdone; they should have given you another one in its place. About 5 years ago, I went to Sci Fi for lunch and it was really fun; I love the whole concept and atmosphere in there. But the food isn't anything special, as others have mentioned.
That place is where we had one of our very few less than stellar Disney meals. Last trip the chef couldn't find the ingredient book and wound up sending out my ds' meal with something he was allergic to right on top! By the time they fixed 3 major goof ups with our meals and getting the drinks out, we got cold food and warm beverages! As bad as it was guest relations made up for it! It was strictly the kitchen's fault I left feeling sorry for the server

Your mom sounds like she'd be a blast at a party . . . I know a person who acts a bit like her, in the sense that she finds fault in everything and everyone. Could never figure out why someone would want to go around in life being miserable all the time. o_O

Glad to hear that you and your sis had fun, despite your mom. Sounds to me like there were plenty of upbeat activities for the weekend. You mentioned a market that was near your sister's home. Was it a specialized sort of food store, and was it an independent store versus a chain, like Whole Foods, for example? Did you pack a doggie bag and bring it home in your carry-on bag, to Walt? :D
