Anne of Green Gables was Mom and I read growing up together. We actually bought them at Epcot Canada; they had them in the shop at the time. I was always a reader.

Though Moby Dick... there's entire passages that are about absolutely nothing.

Yeah, I could not get anything out of it. I read and read and read, and there just seemed to be no point to it.

Moby Dick contributed to society by giving teachers something to help them torture their students. I got a passing grade on my book report, but I think it's safe to divulge the fact that my report was BS from beginning to end. I guess I was able to successfully fake it to make it even back in the stone age. A talent that got me through life, never homeless and almost always looking accomplished. I continue that charade even as we speak.

At least dad took his outdoor Christmas decorations downs before the ground freezes.

For me there are 2 big things in 2025 starting with my parents 50 years of marriage in June and the 2nd is I'll be at Epic Universe in September. I did get Universal gift cards as Christmas gifts.

My parents are delaying their special New Years day meal this year though till later this year due to Dad getting a stent at a hospital on Friday on something that is heart related. There is a list of food he couldn't have before the stent and he'll be leaving the hospital on Saturday.

My husband took a lot of stakes and things that were staked down out today. Tomorrow he is moving all the non-staked items (big plastic figures) out of the yard. It will be in the 30's tomorrow but will drop quickly into the teens for the rest of the week I think.

Sorry to hear about this medical procedure that your dad has to get this week. Too bad it came up around the holidays; but he'll feel better in due course, and you all can celebrate with a belated N. Y. day meal, down the road. Fingers crossed that his recovery is soon, and better days ahead for him.
