Megan just sent me a pic of Emmy’s first haircut today…!!!!! :inlove::happy:

Her haircut is very nice. But what I really like are the toys on the shelves behind her, and her colorful cape with the cartoon character on it. (When I go to a salon, they just have boring black capes, and no toys in sight. Just overpriced hair products on the shelves. Sheesh . . . :cautious: ) I think I'm switching salons to Emmy's one! :D

Got back from a TSSFFBR a little while ago.
There was a story on the radio about a young woman and her $1,400/month Chevy Tahoe payment.
We paid the Camry off several years ago, and paid cash for Carolyn’s car. A car payment approaching $400/month would pain me… :in pain:
When I got home I Googled…she and her husband were made for each other…complete and total idiots…!!!!! 🤪😜🙃:hilarious:

Enjoy…!!!!! 😅

The thing I hate about that is that those technicians are working there to make a living for themselves and usually for their families. It does bother me that my doing that stuff is also at the expense of the people doing the work. The bosses will never feel the pinch, just the workers. That said, however, I have to watch what I spend and anything that I can do to save a couple bucks, well, that is what I think is one of the few ways I can save a few pennies on living expenses and part of being responsible. The workers, of course, are not the ones setting the prices on things like that, but they are certainly the first to suffer if business is lost because of it.

I have no concern regarding the owner/manager/employee relationship. They chose what they’re doing for a living, and they can figure it out.
But, as you posted, I’ll do whatever I still can to save a buck though, in regards to vehicle maintenance.

I think we burned lots of calories back in the day at elementary school. There were no vending machines that sold all that unhealthy junk food , no provided school lunches , only water fountains. My mom packed a bologna and cheese sandwich or similar , an apple and a drink in my metal GI Joe lunch box . We burned calories at gym class, at lunch time where we ate for a few minutes then we played in the recess area outside until the bell sounded that lunch was over. After school ended we went out and played stickball, bike riding, etc until we rode our bikes back home to have dinner. My parents believed in no snacking at night and after dinner no food until breakfast. Years ago my bloodwork numbers scared me straight , and I knew I was overweight. Never easy but diet and exercise is what brought my numbers to acceptable levels. Also to mention a number of my classmates, peers, bosses all had heart attacks, most passed away at an early age , some after open heart changed their lifestyle and are doing well.

Yea, as I posted earlier, we burned it all off, whether at recess (we also had a morning recess), playing in the neighborhood, riding our bikes out wherever/to the foothills and back by dinner time, ball games, etc.
We had provided lunches in the cafeteria that you could buy, and also milk. I’ll never forget when milk went from $0.03-$0.05, everyone lost their minds…!!!!! :eek:o_O🤪:hilarious:
To be clear though, we mostly brought lunches from home, and only bought a lunch about every coupla’ weeks or so, and that was usually on a “pizza bread” day…!!!!! :hungry:😅
There were definitely no vending machines, even all the way through HS in 1980.
I started gaining weight in my mid 20’s on up to my mid 30’s, when I lost about 70lbs. over about an 8 month period. I got down to 180lbs.
One coworker said I looked much tougher with the weight gone, than I did at my much jollier weight, my wife said I was too skinny, and my doc said I needed to lose 10 more pounds…!!!!! :hilarious:
The funny part is, that same doc called me after some bloodwork. Scared the crap outta’ me, as it’s very unusual for the doc to call a patient directly. He then proceeded to tell me he had to call because my numbers were insanely good, especially my cholesterol…it was at 123…!!!!! 😀:)
I went on no fad diet to do it either.
I just drank less beer, ate a little less of better foods, and moved more. Worked perfect, for me anyway.
Then, of course, I fell off the healthier living wagon and gained it all back over the next year-and-a-half…!!!!!:bored::hilarious:
As of now though, I’ve lost about 50 lbs. and am trying to be in better shape for our next family WDW trip in late June…!!! :)

Just for grins, a pic of me on our October family WDW trip, and a coupla’ pics of me after my weight loss at age 35…WOOF…!!!!!:cyclops:🤣

I never thought that parts of body would shrink until my gradual weight loss. My foot size was 8.5' , now it is an 8.

I never noticed that with my weight loss. I’ve always worn a 10.5-11, depending on the shoe.
I bought at least 2 pairs of size 11s after I lost all the weight…a pair of boots and a pair of dress shoes. 🤷‍♂️
