If it ain't Selleck it ain't Magnum.
I couldn't get into the original Magnum. My mom showed me a few episodes and just...eh.

I'd sometimes watch the new one with my parents because it used to come on right before Blue Bloods. For the purposes of keeping me moderately entertained until the show I actually wanted to watch came on, it was fine, but I can see how people who watched the original Magnum wouldn't like it.

Other than when he shaved his mustache 😯😯😯
Yup, he's stuck with that facial hair. If I looked like that with a moustache I'd happily keep it as well. I in fact do have a beard and moustache that I have had for 47 years. I shaved it off once and immediately after I looked in a mirror I started growing it back.

The crazy 1980s , and the era of big hair and lots of hair spray and some like me lived without central AC or AC in my cars.

And you're still alive???
I am still alive also despite I had to deal with back in the 80s. I had Chickenpox in the 1980s with it being over 100 degrees outside at the time and I ended up in the hospital. Parents house at the time had fans and box fans. Lets say having chicken pox in over 100 degree weather is not something you want to deal with.

There was not such a thing as a chickenpox vaccine in the 80s.

The times where handheld electronic idiot boxes did not exist. More discussion with friends and family , to go look up information one had to go to the library , read a real map, etc,

but that..means.. talking to other people.. like a normal well adjusted people.. which I am not.. THE HORROR! XD

Speaking of research/information…
Back in the day (we were still in No Cal), my folks bought a brand-spankin’ new set of 1975 The World Book Encyclopedia. I read those books for hours, I loved them so much…!!! :)
Funny thing is, the whole volume was obsolete the second it went to print…!!!!! :hilarious:
We/I used them through HS for research papers and such. I remember using them for an oral report in drafting class regarding architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
Unfortunately, that set didn’t make it through the fire. They didn’t burn actually, but, were destroyed by all the water from the fire hoses. :(
