I'm happy to report that I have returned to Raleigh after a pleasant visit with family and friends in Vermont and Upper Upper New York State. Put 1860 miles on the Jetta and since it is the first road trip I have taken with her, she did very well. Comfortable and great gas mileage.

I was hesitant to make the drive because of my back issues but it didn't seem to have any affect it at all. I hadn't been back to the area for 7 years and was amazed at how much had changed. No pictures because it was just home not at a tourist attraction. I'm very glad I made the trip and except for the three hour time it took to get through DC and Baltimore on the way up there were no road problems at all. Praise Waze for the rest though. I opted for a different route back. A little longer but no traffic caused delays at all.

I am happy to also announce that I went to the Ben & Jerry's factory where I saw a lot of different flavored cows producing Ice Cream.

It sounds like you really enjoyed your time, visiting and being on the open road.

And thank you for making sure all the cows Ben and Jerry keep in the back are still making all those crazy flavors! Chubby Hubby had to hurt their poor udders.

If you are driving a new VW Jetta it is a smooth ride and gas saver. Under warranty there is an issue with all Taos and Jetta models in the USA. The rear rotors and rear brake pads wear out in a very short time, owners saying between first 10K-20K miles. VW will cover parts and labor on these specific items before first 2 yr/24K miles one time only. It is in writing.

I'm glad you had a good time and that your back didn't bother you too much.

Mine is a 2019 Jetta R-line, it turned over 40K miles on this trip.

This is great! What a nice time to visit VT and up-state NY. A change of scenery is always refreshing.

The best part was that your back didn't give you any issues, driving that long distance. Hope you brought home some apples and maple syrup for yourself! :hungry:
