Maybe not in these temps but I remember eating split pea soup with bacon and ham on a cold day when I was young. Mom knew how to make a good batch and plenty to share when my friends played over in my house.

Also, pardon for being quiet. Had to fly to another city.. then drive back. (My brother got some surgery and I drove him back home).

I have yet to hear a single firework so far this year.
However, on the local news earlier this evenin’, they showed some footage of all the boats on Lake Austin near the big bridge and across from the golf course.
Haven’t seen it that packed since the golf tournament…!!!

As we speak I am hearing fireworks outside of my window or it's a gunfight. I'm hoping for the first one. It must be a little ways away because it seem quite muffled. I'm not close to any official fireworks display.

Celebratory gunfire on Independence day in some Latin American countries happens at times. Sadly some innocent bystanders get hit
