Prayers and Pixie dust for the coal miners who were hit by a tornado Friday night near my hometown, please. There were 8 people injured, but I don't know how seriously, and I have no idea whether I know any of them or not. The tornado hit right at the shift change at North Antelope Rochelle Mine, and it tipped over train cars and also buses that drive the miners back home as some of them don't want to make the drive themselves after a 12 hour shift. They have a shuttle service that brings in the one shift's workers and takes the others back home. I guess a few of those were knocked over and one building was destroyed. The mine is 26 miles from the nearest town (my hometown), so it was far enough from any residential areas, but being at shift change at an open pit mine, there weren't many places to take cover. The mines all have shelters built for blizzards with food and beds and generators and whatnot, but they aren't underground or built for taking cover during a tornado. I hope none of the injuries were serious. I know one person had to be taken out of state for more advanced care, but I don't know how serious the injuries were.

I didn't mention it, but I bought 2 small gingerbread houses when I was in Door County at the Mistletoe Holiday House store. Those 2 gingerbread houses will be part of my gingerbread village.

Also my dad bought this for me last week on woot:

That building was 50 percent off on woot according dad and decided surprise me with it as a new piece of another Christmas Village I have.
