@StarWarsGirl is he who shall not be named back yet?
I think part of Mr. Donkey's attitude is my refusal to work more than 40 hours in general, based off of what he said in our team meeting today. If my stuff doesn't get done...well, it doesn't get done. If I work more than 40 hours one week because I'm taking time off or something, that's one thing, but this is why I'm not in public accounting.

Are you salaried, or hourly paid? (Depending upon what company I worked at, I've been in both buckets of payroll.) At my last job, they had most employees at hourly. So OT was frowned upon by the bean counters to the managers. That pretty much kept most employees at 40 hours.

Hourly is so much better. They screw you by making people salary in overtime.

I got a job offer a couple weeks after I got my job. Pay was a little better but salary. I would have to go in the city more plus meetings and I would be the only person it the department. The only reason why I wanted to take it was it was an international company but it would have been horrible at first.

And hourly is also horrible because if you're not at 40 one week, you're not going to get anything more unless they ask you.

I was hourly then moved up the food chain through various salaried positions. That was my experience. Some I know in Wall Street make high six figures to seven figure income include year end performance bonuses but grinding it out 8am-11pm 6 days a week ( company provides 3 catered meals a day so staff can eat and work at their desks ) living near NYC office during week and visiting family on Sunday. The stock markets teams rarely sleep.

The closest to Deep Dish Pizza I recalled having was Pizza Hut. I am more of thin crust person for pizza.

My dad is not a Chicago Style pizza person. His was not at a Pizza Hut at all. I am under the impression he had it in the 60s or 70s and didn't like that style. He's more into the thin crust pizza.

I am sure mom didn't have Deep Dish Pizza growing up or in College. While My Mom lived in Small cities or villages, I know show had pizza at least in her college days in Appleton, Wisconsin at a place called Frank & Pat's Pizza. It was a great pizza place known for thin crust. I went there growing up when it was renamed Frank's Pizza Palace.

I haven't minded it up until now. My last job with this company it was very rare that I had to work overtime. A lot of times I'd only work 38 hours and it was fine. But now, I'm like, "yeah, y'all don't pay me enough for this."

Wait, that dbag wants you to work extra for free?
Is he really pulling a "you're one of our team, you should work more!"

I am not surprised. It is typical behavior from Management that has employees on a set salary.

I am going by how one of my aunts had to work before her stroke in 2021 when she was in her early 60s. She had a office position at a company at set salary, but she was working a lot of overtime. I don't know the amount, but she wasn't paid for it due to her being paid salary. I am talking about going to work during weekends and even doing work at home. She had no say and she even had to do work that her own boss were supposed to do instead of her.

As far as her stroke went, it was not all caused by work. She did a bad job of taking care of herself by stuff like refusing to have a primary care doctor:facepalm:.

Pretty much. In salaried positions, you don't get overtime. Which I would be more fine with if it was like in my other job where I sometimes maybe worked 42 hours a week, but then a lot of times my boss would let me leave early when stuff was slow. But I don't make nearly enough money to do this much work, and I'm pretty sure they're underpaying me market rate because I can easily be making $15-$20K more if I jump ship. I've stayed here so long because the benefits are excellent, but if I can jump ship and make more money, I definitely will.

If our brave men and women in the military were paid hourly they would make a nice income. My relative who is retired Navy worked 9-10 hours in port , underway on an aircraft carrier 15-16 hour days , 7 days a week , months at a time. If general quarters is happening on the ship all crew at battle stations regardless if one is off duty or on duty , some can be awake for up to 40 hours on duty working.

But deployment was not a constant yearly thing.
It's like cruise ships.. Aka months at a time.

We have 2 locations of a local place here that specializes in deep dish pizza, called Conans Pizza. The first location opened down on The Drag in ‘76. Really good stuff…!!!!! :hungry: Haven’t eaten there in a while, though.
They have a pizza called “The Savage” with everything on it.
Guess what I’m picking up for dinner on the way home from the office tomorrow…?!!! :)
