I would have kicked into a coma at checkout. Then I would have gone home and looked at websites that tell you what is required to put kids up for adoption. Also how to skirt the question about food consumption.
I don't do that every week. There was a big canned food sale so I restocked my pantry. I should have enough canned tomatoes and canned beans until the next sale

I'm sure when you were a kid, you also jacked up the weekly grocery bill. I have 2 brothers, and I remember they were hungry hounds -- ALL the time! :hilarious:
My sister and myself were both big eaters, but my mother was not a creative cook, so it was just basics. My dad had a good appetite too but never the extent that Figgy describes. For one thing we never had the money. We weren't poor but lower middle class was about the best we could get to financially. Food was a lot less expensive back then, but incomes were as well. It just wouldn't have flown.

I lucked out, in a way, and only had two daughters. Both of them, along with their mother were always watching their girlish figures so they were all light eaters. Also we didn't serve food family style. My wife would do up a plate for each one of us, including me, and that was what we ate. I might add the none of us would be invisible from any angle. Oh, yea and no snacking either at least not habitually.
