I sometimes had the opposite. Very fragile stuff being sent in padded envelopes.. all them arrived damaged obviously.. :/

Back in the day to amuse myself, I played with the bubble wrap in the padded packages. I liked making the popping sounds.

Amazon used to do that all the time. I guess they figured it was cheaper to just use what they had then to stock massive numbers of assorted sized boxes. They seem to have gotten mostly over that. I've seen more assorted, appropriate sized containers this season then ever before.
