Many tears ago just before I went in the service my mother, girlfriend (at the time) , younger sister took a road trip to Florida to see my grandmother. We stopped in SC and stayed in these cottages on Highway 17 asked where we could eat owner said down the road. There was a little restaurant on the side of a gas station and we ordered fried chicken. Elderly black woman brought out a plater of fried chicken --the best I had ever eaten -never found any since to compare. She brought out honey we all looked at her what's this for she said honey you put on your fried chicken. Ever since I eat fried chicken with honey. Moved to SC in 78 and not 10 miles from the house is the the building where we ate. No longer open and the cottages were still there abandoned I 95 killed their business. Small world

Have you ever tried Sweet Potato chips from Aldi's? So good.

I know people love the Grapefruit Beer from Disney. However, it's the first beer I almost threw out without finishing it.

Although I’ll drink it in a pinch, I definitely don’t love grapefruit beer, from Disney or otherwise.
Plus, the vast majority of it seems to have too low ABV for my tastes…!!!!! :cautious::D:hilarious:

That's a very sweet memory you were lucky to have. We never drove to Florida except on 95 so we didn't get to experience many places off the beaten path

Exit 21 I-95 Southbound in SC, there are wood planks nailed to tall trees advertising Moonshine . Locals advertising their homemade products off a dirt road not sold in liquor stores. That's an experience.

Baked potato, sweet potato, I even eat the skin which also is healthy.

I rarely eat sweet potatoes, but, I love a good loaded baked potato, and I rarely don’t eat the whole thing, including the skin.
Also, I usually scoop some of the loaded potato out and put it aside, then finish the rest and the skin, then finish the loaded…!!!!! 🤪:hungry:🤪:hilarious:

On a side note…
Jason’s Deli (the one that was near us closed because of Covid) used to have a baked potato called “The Pahd’na” (sp?).
It consisted of a football-sized 🏈:hilarious: baked potato, generous amounts of tender, sliced smoked bbq brisket, melted shredded cheddar cheese, chopped red onions, tangy-sweet bbq sauce, and butter…it was insanely delicious…!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull::hungry::hungry::hungry:

I want to gooooooooooooooooooooo thereeeee :(

We actually almost didn’t go to Roswell at the last minute. Sarah was readin’ reviews of the museum this mornin’ and was runnin’ into some not-so-hot ones at first, but, as she went along they got better.
We talked about goin’ to White Sands instead.
Ultimately, we just thought who cares about the reviews, everyone has a different opinion, and goin’ in, we weren’t, necessarily, expectin’ a “stellar” :D experience…!!!!! :hilarious:
Also, turns out the drive was only a little over an hour each way, instead of 1.5.
The museum was a LOT of fun, as were the space alien-related sites around town…!!! 👍:)
We’re definitely glad we chose to take a silly side trip to Roswell…!!!!! 🤪👽:D:hilarious:

@SteveBrickNJ , just wanted to mention that I've noticed how many delicious meals you've been posting lately (on the theme parks or other food pictures thread). :hungry: You and your wife are enjoying some tasty meals these days!
My wife and I like to go hiking or biking in the warm weather months. Yet January in NJ is obviously not good for that. Rather than sitting home being bored, we like to go out to an eatery....it's delicious and helps us overcome feeling blue because of being stuck inside.
