At this point, I will have to take your word for it. I, honestly, never even heard of "school bread" until a day or two ago, so I'm not in the range of experience to even have a clue. Just a suggestion. Obviously, if it contains custard and icing, I have no idea what it is.

Special announcement: I finally had the revelation, and possibly one working brain cell, to look it up online and now I see that it reminds me of a donut. But the flavor of it didn't come through no matter how much I licked the screen.
It's definitely not as sweet as a donut. It's more like a dinner roll that has some frosting and coconut on it, but the dinner roll isn't really all that sweet. To me, the flavors just don't match up. I want it to be sweet and decadent and itstead it's just blah. The bread is too dry without the custard, but there's not enough custard on it for the amount of bread. I'd need the whole thing to be covered with custard instead of that little dollup at the center. And the bread itself needs to be sweet. But that's just my opinion. More for the people who actually like it, I guess.

The Rhode Island governor is not thinking correctly. He advised that state parks will be open to the public Sat but closed Sun and Mon due to the incoming hurricane coming to New England . Everyone should have been proactive like days ago prepping for the storm and eventual mass power outages instead of some thinking of enjoying a day at a park. Perhaps some do not recall what it is like to experience the prep, ride out and post hurricane experience. Good luck to all in the affected areas.

Emy is an inspiration with her "can do" attitude toward work! She knows she has a big job ahead, to move all that sand into the back of the truck, and haul it out of there,! :hilarious:

I love her on-trend beach attire -- such a fashionista! :joyfull:

Yep, Emy is a hoot-and-a-half…!!!!!!!!!!! :joyfull:
She’s a thoughtful, loving, caring, smart, independent, beautiful soul of a young lady, so very much like her mother, and we all love her so very much and are so proud to have her in our family…!!!!!!!!!!! :inlove::happy:
And yes, one heckuva’ fashionista, to boot…!!!!! :hilarious:

Sounds like your dad is the one who got lucky today!
My dad got lucky by neighbor being home. What happened was the medical scare happened on my birthday. My parents and my younger brother were with me with the plan of ordering chicken by phone. The medical scare happened before the chicken was ordered.

The neighbor was a key because 911 was putting us on hold for 7 to 10 minutes on the phone. We heard a breathing sounds that were troubling like gasping for air and checked right away on dad on the couch. We didn't like what we saw and contacted 911 right away. What we didn't like was the head slumped down, drooling from the mouth and face color was purple.

We got the neighbor right away after with us being on hold for 911. The neighbor was a paramedic for 30 years. What he did played a big role on him able to be alive before emergency came.

He's at home now, but does have restrictions.

Good news but being put on hold while on 911 is disturbing.

Being on hold with 911 for that long during an emergency is unacceptable. I think you are at least owed an explanation. So glad your neighbor was there to assist!

You were very lucky to have that neighbor help you out. I hope your dad’s recovery goes well. And I agree with the others about the 911 that was too long of a wait.

I'm so glad you had a neighbor who could help! I had a neighbor across the street when my kids were little who was an EMT and her husband was a fireman. I was sad when they moved. She helped a lot of people in the neighborhood with medical emergencies. She gave me antiseptic wipes when my daughter fell off her bike and scraped up her knee, she helped another lady when she was having a heart attack...Paramedics make great neighbors!

So we've been going through our shed to clean it out because it was overly full and some boxes were collapsing and you couldn't even get into it. I haven't had a Christmas tree for a couple of years because there was no getting to the tree or decorations. I needed a saw a few weeks ago and had to borrow one from my inlaws because I couldn't get into the shed to find ours. It's been kind of fun finding old photo albums, keepsakes, etc....I don't know why, but this was in an envelope with my mom's old report cards and a news article about a promotion she was given. It seems a bit out of place in that envelope, but I thought it might be of interest to some here. It is an article about Mickey's 50th birthday.234779852_827680151451783_3785664671835702011_n.jpg

To everybody on the east coast please stay safe and dry. I'm going to cook and vac seal food all day. The boys are already on chopping duty:angelic:
I should be done in 2 hours or so but shouldn't have to cook for the rest of the week.
I can grill if I run out of what was cooked:banghead::banghead::banghead: I also have a burner on my stove and a camp stove if things get desperate

I left my parents last night after dinner and came back this morning with a trunk load of stuff. In case the 2 big humegous trees within ten feet falls on the house.

New plane story. The original Southwest return flight we had before the cracked windshield was cancelled. The flight was supposed to be leaving at 9pm.

The JetBlue flight was a little early to the airport but because they don't pay workers well, they didn't have an extra crew to deplane us so they held us hostage for an hour.
