Don't know why y'all think us Europeans get a 💩 ton of holidays.
Unless I'm mistaken, I seem to recall that (Germany? and perhaps others) had a generous vacation package, that was either based upon your age and/or years in the workforce. (Years ago, I worked with a woman whose husband was from Germany, and she was jealous of their vacation guidelines.) So that's how I learned about the big difference in vacation time that (some) countries had.

Companies can pay for more. They just don't want to because America.

People that shall not be name could care less about us to write PTO/sick time/baby popping time into law.
FYI
Only 23% of employees take all of the time they are entitled to — and 9% take no paid time off at all, Glassdoor found. Last year, American workers left a record 768 million days of vacation on the table, up nearly 10% from the year before, according to research

One thing my family learned about going on vacation in Europe in August, is think again. Some parts of Europe take the month off to go on vacation.

Great if you live there. Some of us get 15 days holiday a year. And have lost 5 of those due to covid ..

I always use my vacation, which during the school year is 2 personal days. One of the first pieces of advice from my mentor teacher when I met her my first year teaching was to always use my personal days for something fun not appointments that is what sick days are for.

I wonder the reasons.. were they forced to work extra time because of random excuses?

I was in that group also. I was accruing vacation days so fast that after several months of not taking anytime off ( vac) ( doesn't include my two days off per week )I had all this piled up vacation days to take but at point in the year could not take time off because the workload got more hectic.

So, aside of the food, what is your second favorite attraction at the fair? (Haven't been to a fair in many years -- I used to like the animal exhibits, (4-H), etc. Also, does your fair have any of those fun carnie rides?
My 2nd thing is looking at all the vendors that are in marketplaces and buildings in the fair. These are not food vendors, but sell different types of products. My 3rd for me was setting down and taking break while listening music in the background.

The Wisconsin State Fair has a lot of animal barns, but I have I can not go in them. My allergies act up.

I found out today that there is a Dog Sport demonstration🐶. When it comes animal barns and stuff like that, I like to avoid because of my allergies.

The fair has A ferris wheel where there used to be a international market place. There is a carnie ride/game area called Spin City, but it is not located near the old International Market Place area. I think the map does a better job of explaining where Spin City is. Here is a link to a map for Wisconsin State fair property:

The Ferris Wheel is called Wonderfair Wheel on the map.
