There are a couple of McCormick spices that have been recalled. (The codes and expiration dates are listed in the article.)

Luckily I don’t have any of those. I have been buying some spices in bulk actually cause we use them a lot. I get them on Amazon. I do that with garlic, onion, paprika, chili, cinnamon, and Italian seasoning.

Interesting that I had bought the Italian seasoning (2 small bottles), but it was a few months ago. My bottles were a different size (apparently, they have different sizes for different types of stores), and the numbers and expiration dates were different, from the recall. So I'm keeping mine.

The local news just said there's is a chicken wing shortage. Same thing as clams I guess.

A restaurant called Flo's Clam Shack is not selling clams right now. Prices are too high.
Been hearing about the chicken wings thing for months now, but haven't seen any shortage in my area.

Regarding the clams, I know there was a red tide situation recently, but not sure if that has passed yet. That might have jacked up the prices.

Never saw that before, but I'm not really up on spices. What do you use it for?
You've never seen seasoning salt? Or just the Boathouse version? My mom had a recipe for seasoning salt that I still use and she sold little Jars of it at Christmas... It was very popular. We use it on zucchini, toasted bread (baguettes) with a little olive oil, it's good on burgers, you can make croutons for salad... It's pretty versatile.

my husband was talking to the lady that owns the local bar in our town, which also has great food. She told him she is taking chicken wings off the menu for awhile, the cost due to the shortage is making it hard to break even on them and she doesn’t want to Jack up the price.

I'd have to be pretty hungry to eat wings. I guess it depends on how they are prepared. We have a Chinese Buffet that makes them like I like them. They are breaded and fried. The breading is flavored perfectly to me. I don't like slimy skins and won't eat them that way. This place, by breading, make the skins crispy and good. As far as a plate of wings, I'll pass. They maybe good, but like crawfish they require way to much work to eat them than it is worth.
