We've had smoke over the state since yesterday, from those huge fires out West and Canada. Some airstream current dragged the smoke in our area--looked like haze yesterday. You can even smell the smoke outside. Bizarre -- don't ever recall anything like this before.

We still have it here too. I still can’t see some of the mountain range from our house. Just completely white from the smoke. We can smell it mostly late in the evening.

Yep, it is supposed to be in the low 90's this week, then cool off to the upper 80's. But I'll be in the Anaheim and the weather there should be in the low 90's-upper 80's, so I guess I'm not escaping any heat.

No golf today, everyone I golf with is either out of town, working or busy. Thursday for that, leave it up to them to schedule on a day that is supposed to be the hottest this year. Since my thirtieth birthday I have vowed to always play golf within 4 days of my birthday. I try not to think back about how I used to walk up and down hills dragging my golf clubs in the middle of summer. Ain't happenin anymore. The most talked about thing that I ever did for my birthday was just after my family had moved to NC and I was still in Vermont. I actually took the time off and drove 2000 miles round trip just to play golf and force my kids to buy me gifts. Fortunately, this year, one of my Grandsons invited me out to the Chinese Buffet tonight. It's kind of nice when your grandkids start to give back a little.
