After reading the Disney closing 20% of it's store thread I miss shopping in person.:(

Definitely And it extends well beyond the Disney stores as well.

Sometimes it's nice to just say hello to a person who works in a store. I always buy the large Sunday newspaper at a little local store, because the guy that works there is friendly to everyone. I could get the Sunday newspaper by subscription from the company, have it delivered, and it would be cheaper with the promotional deal. But then I wouldn't have my weekly visit to the little store, so I'll stick with going in-person every Sunday. :)

The one Disney store that was spared was the money making FL mall store in Orlando a few miles from WDW. It is popular for locals and tourists.

Tom Terrific and the Mets!
There I was sitting in a run down old hotel in San Francisco just killing time before my next morning flight to Vietnam. I had always been a fan of the Mets. No particular reason why, I just liked them and they came through for me in my time of need. I watched the final game on a 19 inch, black and white, static filled, civil war era Television. After the game I went over to the USO and filled my pockets with free candy bars for my dinner and breakfast. The layover happened because my weapons training that had been scheduled for five days in Oakland only ran one day. So we were given the option of staying on base and await our flight or be free to roam San Francisco. No brainer, I was going to spend the next year immersed in the Military didn't need to sit around a military installation more days then I had too. The problem was that by the third day I had spent everything I had leaving me with 27 cents. That is exactly how much I still had in my pocket when I arrived in Bein Hoa. I had prepaid my room and saved enough out to pay for a cab to the airport. I could go one day without a balanced diet, but missing that flight had some severe consequences. The comical thing was the streets of SF were lined with beggars asking for extra change. When they'd come up and say.. "hey, pal, can you spare a quarter? My reply was that I was just about to ask them the same question. Ah, good times.
